Saw it on Saturday and still don't know what to think about it. I love big mindless movies, but this was lacking something. What? I can't quite put my finger on it. I've seen better, I've seen worse, so let's just say it was okay, but I wouldn't have missed much if I had stayed home.

I prefer Real Steel although Pacific is just too much special effects. Good acting.

Saw Pacific Rim yesterday. I was dubious after seeing trailers on telly and in the cinema, as they were rubbish, but I loved the film!! One of the best sci-fi films this year!! Just a shame the trailers didn't do the film justice. I noticed a bit of a S.O.A theme amongst the cast lol :P

Certainly not at the screening I attended. There was an embarrassed silence each time they appeared. Face Palms were abundant.

Had to watch a double bill of Hellboy & Pan's Labyrinth to flush this drivel from my visual cortex.

Not one I will be b*ying on DVD after I saw it yesterday with the family at the cinema. Never mind, graphics were great though!

Easily pleased then, huh ;)
Just catching up, enjoying reading this thread and the really interesting debate and analysis (more enjoyable than the film) and oops! Just noticed this :giggle: should have of course been 5/10 ! And I have confused transformers with power rangers! Was so bored, it warped my brain! Hence my review was short and totally confused! :D :D

But it is great I get an opportunity to see it, as it would not be a film I would choose to go and see, if I had to p*y, but happy to watch for free for the experience and hoping to be proved wrong!

saw this with a voucher at the IMAX Swiss Cottage - was very disappointed to discover that an 'imax' at Swiss Cottage is barely bigger than a normal big odeon screen. They sure put the imax industry in a cottage.

Pack of lies from the staff though they were pleasantly spoken about it - 'this screen is as big as Greenwich and Wimbledon's imax'. Who are they kidding? Still it was free so wont raise too much of a fuss.

but not going there again....
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Good action and effects but otherwise too predicatable and week story. A waste for Idris Elba I thought. 5/10.
