Sad news, one of those actors who lifted your spirits when you saw his name in the credits.

I've known Jon for almost half my life. I was woken with a text early this morning with this news and I still can't wrap my head around it. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known and so encouraging with what I want to do and always wanted my comments good and bad on new charlatans stuff. I'll miss him forever and a day.

Really sad news, especially for you knowing him personally. I hope you are as ok as you can be.

I only knew him through his music, The Charlatans soundtracked my youth and beyond and I've danced myself silly too many times to remember at their concerts and at clubs.

They've given so much pleasure to so many people, but have encountered so much bad luck, so sad.

Newspaper column comment sections are usual not a pleasant place to visit, but there's not a bad word from anyone about Jon here and some lovely recollections from fans who met him however briefly
