Went to see this last night. It was ok. It at least held more attention throughout which is more than can be said of a few other films I’ve seen.
I saw the Interns a few weeks ago, and I think this is certainly better than that (not sure that’s a recommendation or not)!

I thought Sandra Bullock was good, she was a good foil to Melissa McCarthy. Wasn’t the most original plot, straight laced cop partners the maverick must be one of the oldest clichés in the book. This is nothing against the film but I do find it rather sad when you have movie executives on millions who rarely come up with really original story lines.

Anyway back to the Heat, reasonable film 6.5 out of 10.

Saw this again last night and is just as good on a second viewing, but message to the selfish cow sitting behind me:
by all means see this again, but for gawd's sake don't say out loud the lines before they are said and tell everyone what is just about to happen - "She's gonna come in behind her", he's gonna kill him", "watch this bit - she's gonna do this/that", and saying all the punchlines before they are said. Grrr.

Absolutely loved The Heat. A real breath of fresh air in an age where comedy is an excuse for pithy sanctimonious speeches about "following your heart" and other such twee exclamations. It doesn't ever lose its gag-ridden pace, which is brisk and mixes well with the overall story. Bullock and McCarthy were both phenomenal, keeping the laughs bright and interesting without resorting to obvious slapstick humour. Highly recommend it!

It made me laugh for sure, great chemistry between the two main stars there.

The scene where she was explaining how her cat abandoned her had me in stitches. The choking scene was too much though aha!
