Re: The Lone Ranger
If the media slates a film and then poor reviews follow it's usually to do with everyone agreeing on a film being rubbish. It's not too surprising to me and has nothing to do with the general public just repeating what critics say as there are many occasions where public and critic opinion differ hugely. I don't think the public is that easily influenced.

Re: The Lone Ranger
I have to say that I'm not easily pleased and I thought this film was great. Can't understand why the likes of Pacific Rim and Man of Steel get praised and this gets slated. This in my opinion was the more entertaining of the films.
I have to say that I have sat with members of the press at press shows and some have made up their mind about the film before it's even started. Don't let the bad reviews put you off go and see it for yourself and you might get a surprise.

Re: The Lone Ranger
I agree, its sad but true. The guy behind me in the queue for the Lone Ranger Multimedia Screening a couple weeks ago didn't seem to have very high expectations, and I'm fairly certain that he was a blogger (not massive press, but still I guess influential enough to get invited to the screening on his own).scootermcc wrote:I have to say that I'm not easily pleased and I thought this film was great. Can't understand why the likes of Pacific Rim and Man of Steel get praised and this gets slated. This in my opinion was the more entertaining of the films.

Re: The Lone Ranger
I have been to see the LONE RANGER and was surprised at how enjoyable it was
having heard all the bad press surrounding it,what does it take to make some people
happy ? if you walk out of a cinema feeling you have been entertained what more
could you want(definitely worth watching)

Re: The Lone Ranger
Not the best film but worth a watch. Depp is very likened to his Caribbean character which is no bad thing but did keep thinking a pirate would pop up any moment.
Agree with most of the comments that the length was probably a bit too much and could have been cut back.
Picture and sound was a tad poor in the first sequence. I wonder if this was deliberate to get attention as it was too obvious. Action packed, fun but no masterpiece.

Yep OK it is tomorrow night sorry
But yeah I still can't login on the disney screenings site. I might have just forgotten my password but the reset password link says temporarily unavailable. Will hopefully work before the screening tomorrow though.

This was tremendous fun and the time just flew by.
Charming, witty & feel-good.
For me, easily the best blockbuster movie of this summer!
