Funny you should say that because that's what Tonto means in Spanish, and they used it as a joke towards the end (when discussing names) except they didn't give the meaning so only a joke for people that understand spanish.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Found it to be okay, although it would have been more okay had it been shorter. They could have left at least half an hour on the edit room floor. Oh well. Had some funny bits where I genuinely laughed, had moments that almost brought tears to my eyes, but seems there was no follow through. I guess that's what happens when you try to live up to your previous projects, so to speak.

Watched this last night with kids aged 15, 12 and 10 years. We all thought it was great and never actually realised the lenght of time it was on until we got out of the cinema. Very entertaining.

This turned out to be much better than expected though certainly long. The seats in the Odeon Kingston are definitely only designed for 90 minute films.
I would definitely have cut out the 1933 sequences, they could have saved a fortune in make-up too.
Loved the scenery and all the mayhem, there was quite a mixture of 'real' violence and cartoon violence and fantastic stunts even if they were CGI. Ruth Wilson was very under used. But am recommending to friends over 12.

So much better then I was expecting, although I did think it could of been shorter! Saying that the rest of the family were entertained throughout and didn't notice it was a bit long. Definitely one for the blu-ray collection :)

My brother and I watched this last night and were both surprised by it. After the critical hammering it's received in the US we were expecting it to be pretty average but it was actually a very enjoyable adventure romp. I agree with most of what other folks have said - could easily have had 30 minutes trimmed to make it tighter.

...or Portuguese. :D Tonto means dizzy or imbecile in Portuguese.

Saw this at Manchester Printworks (thanks jordsmum for tickets) - the screen was only about 1/3 full????

Agree with the majority that this could easily have been 30-45 mins shorter -why are all these blockbuster getting so long these days it is not necessary.

I did quite enjoy it - wasn't over keen on Depps Tonto though - 7/10.

Was very disappointed with the film. It was very long and couldn't really see the plot line. I can totally see why it has been hammered by the critics. Even Johnny Depp couldn't save this film for me.

Loved the CGI but otherwise I agree with the American critics
