Not movie of the year by any means and really quite long, but I quite enjoyed it , a mix of humourious, romantic and emotional scenes, but I would say more suited to viewing from the comfort of your sofa on a wet Sunday afternoon.

About a boy was based on a novel by Nick Hornby and Curtis had nothing to do with the screenpaly!

yeah I thought so, but someone else mentioned it as Curtis and I couldn't be bothered to google it so I just went for the disclaimer 'if it was Curtis'.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I adore Love Actually. It's one of those films I can watch over and over again as it's so chock full with great scenes, and not just at the end. The stories are great, the actors are great, the music is great.

With Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, there are certain scenes I could watch over and over again ("In the words of David Cassidy, I think I love you", Carrie's list of all her conquests and the scene in the rain at the end, plus the happy ending in Notting Hill), and I also really like The Boat That Rocked. It's being shown again tonight on ITV and I will be watching, if I can keep my eyes open that long.

As for About Time, there just isn't any iconic scene that I would want to watch again. Not one. And that makes it a failure to me.

I agree totally, I felt as if the usual energy and ambiance was amiss. It was just extremely dull and with a !life lesson! :nono: which I found exceptionally irritating

A film with a message! I actually enjoyed this more than four weddings. Makes you think about the precious time on this planet we all have. Seems this is irritating to some and poignant to others. I just wish Cineworld Cardiff could get their act together. Letting people in as the film is starting is just poor.

My first film for quite a while and I so wanted it to be good. Maybe the pressure was too much for the film, anyway, as others have said, a film for a wet Sunday afternoon. Good story idea but it became too sentimental and flawed. OH kept on about the fact that he had had an impact on other peoples' lives and that while he was happy what about the others... and ..... Still, it was an evening with entertainment.
6/10

Tappy3112 was it on in cineworld as well? I seen this in the Odeon Atlantic Warf - they kept us waiting and start the film before anyone could sit down. They didn't bother about the heat mag, though many were clutching them. We have our 'thought you had brought it' routine ready if they were going to ask for it.
