Riddick
Can we talk about how crap Riddick was now?
Good.
It was crap. At least the pizza tasted good.

Re: Riddick
I agree, it wasn't a good film at all. Shame really, as I quite like the character.
Re: Riddick
LOL I agree, utterly pointless character, other than the fact that he is ridiculously attractive (which admittedly is not how everyone will feelI don't know who this is or why he's even in the movie but BOY is he annoying.
I honestly thought he was about to be slaughtered when he started going on about the angels having saved him, and yet somehow at the end of the film HE WAS STILL ALIVE.
Best thing about this film? Katee Sackhoff, easily. I almost found her funny.
And Riddick's puppy-hyena-zebra. I was seriously ready to go through the screen and kill Santana myself for murdering it.
Other than that...sigh. Very glad it was a freebie, and the pizza and drinks were much appreciated. I'll sit through even the worst of screenings at the Vue West End because there tends to be some sort of treat involved.

Re: Riddick
Nice to meet bevvy, valda, caitlinmorton, tsoiboy, missgotty and priamia.
The film was absolutely fmuking riddickulous. I mean, really stupid - a loud, violent, gory, non-sensical, macho piece of sci-fi shit. I tried to go to sleep but it was too loud. I tried to yawn and nudge OH - to no avail. I whispered whether he liked the film and got a yes back. So I gave in to the torture. Ten bloody minutes before the end of the film he finally needed the loo and I just hastily gathered our belongings and ran out after him. Then I said "Can we please not go back in?" "Yeah, sure, I didn't like the film anyway." "Why didn't you say anything earlier?" "I thought YOU liked it?"
Also, they shoved us into this tiny horrible screening room without any legroom which filled up to the last seat. What were they thinking?
The best part really were the free pizza and drinks beforehand. If they'd given us more pizza to take into the cinema to keep us occupied I might have tolerated how crap it was. But they didn't.

Re: Riddick
Out of curiosity what were your expectations?
Personally I've always liked the character and even enjoyed Chronicles despite its well known shortcomings.

Re: Riddick
Going to go see this one tonight. I seem to remember no one else seemed to like the Chronicles of Ridduck when itcame out but I loved it.
Re: Riddick
It wasn't great but it wasn't the abortion everyone's making it out to be.
If anything, it has Vin Diesel in super-fine form; confident, charismatic and uber-cool.
If you go in expecting a B-movie, you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Re: Riddick
i am a big vin fan (i think he has just an amazing voice) and a riddick fan. this could have been better. i liked the first third as it built on the legend, was ok with the second third but very disappointed with the last third. it seems it wanted a return the the excellence of pitch black but didn't quite get there. never mind. seems set up for a riddick 4.
but days later i get a big smile whenever i see a poster of vin so i will just let this scrape through with a 6/10.
