As you would expect it was pretty violent (it's an 18 rating) with plenty of nudity, swearing and coke snorting etc etc. Not something you would take your children to.[/quote]
Thanks for the info on the contents. i'll take my Nan instead

Superb locations too, but then I am slightly biased. Ha.
Yes, the majority of which were in Glasgow!

Was that not me that said that to you before? I now beg to differ - I saw plenty of New Town, Castle, Victoria Terrace and Grassmarket to make this a definitive Edinburgh movie for me.
On another note: Gutted that I didn't clock David Soul! I kept looking at him but never saw through his disguise. Lol. Didn't even associate his song with him. Der!

Nope. Glasgow. I saw him coming out of the Castle ramparts, The Royal Mile, West Bow, Grassmarket. The rest was Glasgow. His flat was Park District. The neds seemed to have a flower shop in the West End. The underpass; the multis. Weegieland!

The film, I thought McAvoy nailed Robertson with the exception of the accent. I thought Jamie Bell's was actually a better Edinburgh accent.
As I said, shame about the film locations being more Glasgow than Edinburgh. He'd have had to have been a seriously bent copper to afford that fancy main door flat in Claremont/Learmonth/Park Terrace/Crescent in Glasgow (I couldn't quite nail which it was)! The bits you were supposed to recognise were at least Edinburgh! Good to see the Co-op feature as supermarket of choice too!
I thought Irvine Welsh was a serious bigtime Hibbie so was the Hearts scarf ironic? I've not read the book, so just interested to know.
Good film though.

Really? Well it wasn't us, we loved it. It was darkly funny, totally weird but very enjoyable at the same time. The soundtrack was cracking (Nena's "99 Luftballons" for their time in Hamburg for example) and I had more sympathy for obnoxious and troubled James McAvoy's character than I had for any of the characters in Prisoners yesterday. Watching really horrible people set up others can be delicious if forbidden fun.
8/10
Did plan to go over to Cineworld Greenwich afterwards and catch the last hour of Prisoners again to watch the bit I missed, but ended up in La Tasca with bevvy instead.
