Just received this from ShowFilmFirst

Eric and Ern this Sunday CANCELLED

Please note that all our tickets to this Sunday performance of Eric and Ern have been cancelled and SFF Vouchers will not be valid.

This is due to a member posting the offer onto a free ticket site, which means that it has spoiled the opportunity for all other showfilmfirst members.

Apologies for inconvenience, and whoever is posting: please help us get members more tickets but not doing this.
I assume that they mean THIS site.

Well that's strange, I mean they (ShowFilmFirst) must surely know by now that voucher codes are posted here - which works to their advantage. So was it the theatre who objected?

I wouldn't necessarily assume it to be THIS site! There are many other sites where codes are posted.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

That is a shame they cancelled the tickets. It is probably from the codes being posted on more general and public websites whereby the codes and information can be viewed without the need for logging in.

I don't think I've been to that particular West End theatre before, but a word of warning, my OH was once photo ID'd at a West End theatre where I had been numerous times without ID being requested. Mind you, from talking to other FMUKers, he appears to be ID'd at events where no one else is, so perhaps he just looks untrustworthy. ;)

On the one occasion my OH failed to get tickets, I was able to book a new pair on a smartphone and collect those without a printout, so that can sometimes work. Bear in mind, many people cancel tickets last minute, so if you're already near the venue and have access to a smartphone or tablet with an internet connection, it's worth a punt trying to book a cancellation and present a smartphone.

I met one SFF person once (not an FMUKer) who said she didn't have a printer and refused to p*y for print outs at the library, but she'd never not managed to get into a show/film.

Hi

Thanks for the word of warning, your poor other half ha ha
I'm curious how did the SFF person you met manage to see show/films if they didn't have
a print out.

I think she said she emailed the Box Office beforehand with her SFF voucher to them know she was coming. It all sounded a bit weird, TBH, I'm pretty sure the majority of tickets for shows specifically say not to contact the venue! I wouldn't recommend it.

Mind you, it must have worked for her, because she did get in - she wasn't very discreet about it either, she asked me really loudly if I'd got a free SFF ticket too. At that venue, SFF tickets are often in the same few rows, so it wasn't a bad guess, but if I had pa*d for my ticket, I'd have been fuming!
