I have no idea where to post this, as it is cinema-related, but not specific to a film. So apologies to mods if this is the wrong place; I also hope it's not considered inappropriately political for the board.
At Curzon Soho yesterday I found a flyer publicising the Ritzy staff campaign to be pa*d the London Living Wage. I'd like to see all cinema staff receive better p*y and working conditions (yes, even at the expense of higher ticket prices), but this is a start. The campaign has a Facebook page if anyone cares to read more, comment, etc. I'm not sure that Curzon management are aware that the flyer is being displayed on their premises, but I was glad to find it and learn about the campaign. Curzon staff themselves have only recently won management agreement for representation by BECTU - and they are probably in the forefront when it comes to cinema chains, so a long way to go yet when it comes to decent treatment of staff by these companies.
