Oh dear, OH has made ANOTHER batch of mince pies! As he is the only one who likes them and ate all but one (which I had, to be polite) of the first batch himself, I dread to think how huge he will be if he keeps this up. My sister is coming for Xmas but she eats even less traditional Xmas fare than I do... though I might have to force-feed her a few, too.

I'm jealous, Beate! I'm not rushing to take dad to the opticians to collect his new glasses.
Maybe I'll start wrapping later today in between watching films on tv.

Beate wrote:I just looked through our Christmas cards again and I haven't got a clue who two of them are from. None whatsoever. NONE.

My best guess are some obscure relations of OH.

Excuse me being facetious . . .they obviously must really care if they keep sending cards even though you don't send cards back!

If people are happy to tell you what they would like, and you b*y what they've suggested, why do they then want you to wrap the presents? More work and a waste of paper, and no surprise anyway!

A bit of Christmas cheer today courtesy of the cashier at Costco.
Got up to the till with my purchases (nothing too big, but I couldn't walk around carrying them either, especially as I had to go to Lakeside after) and apparently they had been so busy recently that they were all out of carrier boxes AND reusable shopping bags to b*y! I was very worried, as I don't have a car, and the trek from Costco to Lakeside is one of the most annoying things in the world (and a bit dangerous, they obviously don't expect many people to do it on foot). After explaining the situation, the cashier went off somewhere, and returned with a reusable carrier bag, which he gave to me for free (they're normally sold in packs of four). Said it would be my first Christmas present. How so very sweet of him! I don't know where he found the bag, but he definitely saved the day!

Great idea, Ms Thrifty! Only problem is I don't ask folk what they want . . .they get what I give them or rather, what I can afford. My intention was to start wrapping when I got home from dad's but I'm hungry so food will need to come first.
