Re: what are you upto right now...?
Hi all. the film as part of 'ausploitation' on the horror channel. It was just the storyline of a woman alone in a house that got to me. I went to bed and left him to it.
Just finished making OH his corned beef pasties. He's had 2 and will hopefully have a couple to take on his journey tomorrow. Ready made pastry is great... I don't have to be careful about the flour as I can just use my gluten free stuff to dust around.

Hi, Cornbeef pasties - I love them. so you use pre-made pastry, what else do you do? Or is it a case of filling it with Cornbeef only? I'd love to know as I can't eat Greggs as they are crammed with sugar which makes them taste just so good :-(

Purchased a Cineworld Card, so I'm seeing a lot less free films as i am not travelling as far to see them.

Re: what are you upto right now...?
For the pasties I just boil up some potatoes, while they are cooking chop up an onion and fry it till they are transparent but not brownining, open a tin of corned beef and cut off the fat along the sides - a personal preference.
Then mash the boiled pots, add butter & milk - because I like the taste but you don't have to add, add everything else and mix. You can make it as fine or lumpy as you like, salt and pepper to how you like it.
I let the mix get cool before going into the pastry. Either make your own or b*y pastry , roll out and I cut rounds out of , cups, Chinese bowls or if your posh with real cutters. I tend to give each round an extra roll out in one direction, to give me more room to make my half moon shape(also fits more filling in!) I put milk around the edges before I fill them, that makes them stick better (found the use of egg to make them stick got me into quite a mess). Push fork prongs around the edge for a nice finish and brush with milk before putting in the oven around 200c till they are cooked - nicely brown.
Think that was all. I made about 9 out of the ready rolled stuff last night, used about 3/4 a tin of corned beef as OH wanted to eat some of the corned beef on its own.
A very forgiving recipe and you can add whatever you like to it, chillies, carrots, swede... can even have without the pastry with veg and gravy.
Probably not good to eat too many if you are weight watching, you can probably see why my weightometer hasn't budged!

Re: what are you upto right now...?
Just said 'Bye' to OH, he's off to Mexico for 30 days, visiting relatives and generally having a great time.
If my works had agreed to my redundancy, I wouldn't have 'done' my foot in and could have gone with him.
So slightly sulking in the kitchen (massive understatement).

I was just channel-hopping and found an obscure channel that shows Little House on the Prairie! Haven't watched that in ages! That's the next 2 hours taken care of.
