New attractions
Be a Local Tourist events will enable local people to explore the rich heritage and culture which is right on their doorstep.
Be a Local Tourist Week also coincides with the launch of two exciting attractions in Greenwich - Discover Greenwich, a new interpretation centre bringing the heritage of the area to life through interactive displays, and the newly designed Tourist Information Centre.
'Steeped in history'
Councillor John Fahy, Cabinet member for Culture and Olympics, said: "Steeped in history and with a range of great attractions, Greenwich is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations for visitors from all over the world.
"However, there is sometimes a tendency for people who live in the area to forget about what's right on their doorstep which is where Be a Local Tourist comes in.
"The event gives free or discounted access to a range of Greenwich's biggest attractions giving people a chance to discover and enjoy all that their local area has to offer and I would like to encourage everyone to make the most of the opportunity."
