I really enjoyed the film but I am one for gritty, foul mouthed, violent films (each to their own).
I knew exactly what I am going into and still didn't like it even though I grew up watching gritty, foul mouthed, violent films. The fact that it has a 18 certificate in this day and age shows it was going to be hard hitting. I was more disappointed than anything.

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

Irritatingly the screening @ Enfield Cineworld didn't happen tonight (projector problems in screen 5 :wall: ), got some vouchers as compensation but will now have to wait until it goes on general release...

Just back from this and glad I didn't get put off by the reviews last night, a good film and will give it a solid 8/10

Saw this last night in Glasgow Braehead but this just wasn't my type of film at all.

I didn't feel like I connected with any of the characters and very often found it very hard to understand what was being said.

First film I've seen in a while and although I'd seen the trailer, was very disappointed. Thought time dragged by and was constantly checking the time.

Only 1/10 from me unfortunately.

Better than expected after all the poor reviews. Very violent and plenty of use of the "f" word but still give it 6/10.

Raw.
Gritty.
Compelling.
Grim.

I was quite disturbed by this film and left feeling very strange.
That said - totally brilliant!
Can't say I loved it. Can't say I enjoyed it as it's not a pleasant experience, but it is good. Soooo good.

10/10

On a side note, I noticed Jack O'Connell's tattoo - "Jack The Lad". I wonder how other actors would cope with having huge tattoos of their names visible in movies? KEANU? TOM? BENEDICT? etc., etc.

A film made from the Channel 4 camp and these usually deliver. Uncomfortable at times but still had the audience in Edinburgh totally engrossed. Expected the swearing and boy did we get it but overall I would imagine quite a true reflection of certain prison systems. Better than I was expecting so 6/10.

Watched this in Nottingham last night only 80% full, really enjoyed it i remember watching scum on release back in the day and it was a gritty very violent prison life update, well worth watching if you like this sort of thing, if not don't go!

Main lead was brilliant as was the guy from Homeland.

What an absoulutely pointless movie. Yes I know it's a prison movie and I knew it would have strong language and lots of violence, but the frequency of the swearing and the violence of the beatings were OTT. There was really no point to the story, nothing really happened and I felt no affiliation to any of the characters. If I hadn't been sat in the middle of a group of friends I would have left early on in the movie. Sorry but from me the score is 1/10 as it really had nothing to recommend it IMHO. The only reason I even give it one point is because of the pre film entertainment provided by Wee Yinster and Deb1's OH.**

**The best part of the evening was watching Wee Yinster hanging off Deb1's OH's jumper as they did a hysterical 100 metre dash along the corridor in an attempt to win the "ultimate prize"! It was worth going along just for that.

Hey everyone. So I'm gonna go see this on Monday 17th and I was wondering if anyone who has seen it already could tell me if there is nudity/sex/rape scenes

I wanna see it with my dad but those scenes are normally unnecessary and make it awkward -_-

Any responses will be appreciated!
