Would be great to hear from how people that went found it.
I didn't go myself, not sure I would've coped for all those hours.

Re: Game of Thrones marathon - Anybody go?
Several friends and I went - and survived the entire (almost) twelve hours of the event!
I thought the event was incredibly well co-ordinated, with several breaks for complimentary themed-lunch and snacks (of which there was plenty as they had obviously over-prepared, especially for a turn-out that was around 75 people at best!) and complete themed dressing of the dedicated area, with a number of actors in full Westerosi attire and lots of props etc, with the Iron Throne the centre-piece of course.
One niggle I did have was that they seemed to be streaming the episodes themselves (from the blu-ray discs, presumably) via a laptop hooked to the projector - the desktop of which did appear on screen on time to time between the episodes. This meant the image quality was not as stellar as hoped, though when our group moved to the back of the auditorium this wasn't as noticeable.
Overall, we had a great time, both enjoying the show again and the huge effort that the crew put in to make the event memorable. While we had hoped someone from the show would've popped in (though we did get an introductory speeches from the head of Sky Atlantic and someone doing their best Jon Snow impression!) it was on the whole really well done and worth going to.

Re: Game of Thrones marathon - Anybody go?
I came across this event by accident when I was trying to find tickets for Spiderman. Didn't find Spiderman but the GOT tickets were available the day before the event. At that point I hadn't seen a single episode of GOT's but had heard good things about it. Managed to watch a few episodes beforehand and was hooked.
The event exceeded my expectations. The whole of the Sky bar/lounge was decorated with mediaevil props, long wooden tables with long chairs, the GOT throne, actors/models dressed as the characters etc. They provided free lunch, snacks and drinks (including Red Bull) throughout the day. Lunch was supposed to be pie which I thought would be cold pork pie or something. It was actually hot restaurant pie, mash and mushy peas which was really good. The only negative was that there was a film crew and photographers there with a camera in your face evey 5 minutes while you were eating, apparently filming for internal use. That said it was a small price to p*y for a free event.
As for the episodes they were brilliant of course. It was a shame they were being screened from someone's laptop as the quality wasn't as expected. Apart from official breaks for food, there was a 3 minutes delay until the next episode so there was a rush of people racing to the toilet and back every time. For me I really enjoyed the event the time flew by and look forward to any other events they hold, but suspect this was a one off.

Re: Game of Thrones marathon - Anybody go?
I went with the husband - he stayed for the whole thing - I popped in an out rhoughout the day (I hadn't seen any of the episodes from any season I really just got the tickets for him). He really enjoyed it - apart from the whole quality thing which was a bit of a shame.
Sky went all out and I felt a little sorry for them, they clearly were expecting many more people! The themed food breakfast/lunch/snacks were great, and plenty, and I'd go as far as saying there were more staff than customers.
Murdoch didn't bother showing up so he sent his assistant instead to give a little chat about what's coming up on Sky Atlantic.
My question: I didn't see a single person from the public in costume. Does that mean no one won the one year free subscription to sky?

Re: Game of Thrones marathon - Anybody go?
I went to this having not watched any of the Games of thrones episode & I had a fabulous time!
I expected to go for a couple of hours and ended up staying until the end!
It was an excellent day, with food and drink provided for us all day. It included breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the actors that were dressed up in the respective dress of the era looked fabulous. I wished I had as well! Anyway I would sincerely recommend it, if they did it again. It was all round good fun.
