Sigh.... that was not brilliant! Grinchworthy springs to my mind but it was totally inoffensive if only the ating would have been better. Greg Wise was the best thing in this cheesy tale. He is not a great singer but he enjoyed himself and he is easy on the eyes. :-) Not a film to revisit, I think, glad it was free.

Saw this last night at a nearly empty Courthouse Hotel (strange because it is one of my favourite cinemas). There were only about 30 people in the 100-seat cinema - can't understand it. Love the Courthouse Hotel. The staff are great. The bar brilliant - even the prison cells have their own charm! Don't understand why it wasn't packed!

The film was exactly as I expected – a cheesy romcom musical and as long as you are not expecting anything too deep and meaningful, then it fits the brief just fine. It was a light-hearted, feel-good summer film – no more, no less. Like Mamma Mia, the plot was contrived – as it had to fit in with the songs chosen. Also like Mamma Mia the settings were gorgeous (make me want to holiday in Puglia). I enjoyed it but it really depends on what you were expecting – for me it was exactly what I was expecting. No film called “Walking on Sunshine” is going to be deep! A 7/10 from me.

absolutely freaking awful. Like all the good bits of Mamma Mia were sucked out and the ugly pulp that's left is this festering heap. Just sick, sick, sick. Even the miming is horrible, the one thing you'd think they'd try to get right.

However, not a wasted evening as got to se the new Simon Pegg movie, which was good in a manic kind of way.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I had a 2nd viewing of this tonight in Glasgow Quay as I'd enjoyed it so much last week. I still enjoyed it but probably a little less I'm sad to say. Watching it for a 2nd time, I realised that it lacked the sparkle and fun of Mamma Mia which I have watched umpteen times and still enjoy.
I will therefore lower my mark to 7/10.

I absolutely hated this film. It was soooo cheesy and the songs/poor acting/dance routines made me cringe, truly painful. I left not long after Beate.
