Is there anyone kind enough to volunteer/help an elderly disabled women living in Islington, London to put up a chest of drawers flat pack and fix one of the drawers? Her current chest of drawers has been broken for some time and I am trying to find someone to help her. Please pm if you can.
Many thanks,
Missgotty

Re: DIY Help Please
There's a Mobility Repair Service in Islington that does this sort of thing. It's quite cheap. Google it. Or if you have a copy of Islington Life the details are in there. I threw away my copy.
Failing that contact your local Age Concern or ask for help on Freecycle.

Re: DIY Help Please
Thanks I've tried the mobile repair service, the first time they showed up late and without the right tools, I had to direct them to the nearest DIY store to get the tools but they didn't have time to finish the job. The second time I waited all day but the repair guy didn't show up at all so I won't be calling them again. The search continues.....

Re: DIY Help Please
Wow. My mum has used MRS' plumber a few times. They have her an am/pm appointment and rang an hour before they came to say they were on the way. The guy had to b*y parts and gave my mum a quote and returned a few weeks later. The guy then didn't need to do as much work as originally expected, so the cost was cheaper.
Touch wood, the people I know have had nothing but good things to say about this charity/service, which is about to be cut.
