I'm happy that X Men finally got nominated in the Best Visual Effects category! And also to Diane Warren for her song Grateful, who was wrongly overlooked back in 2011 for You Haven't Seen the Last of Me, although I have no idea why that terrible song Everything is Awesome got nominated!

+1

Michael Keaton is by far my personal preference for the best actor award but I can understand or at least live with the nominations for Carell, Cumberbatch & Redmayne.

However I can't understand why Bradley Cooper's performance in 'American Sniper' would be chosen over Gyllenhaal's in 'Nightcrawler' or even Ralph Fiennes in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'.

I guess this is the price I have to p*y for being happy that the overrated 'The Lego Movie' didn't make the short list for best animation category  ...

Glad to see that I'm not the only person who wasn't overwhelmed by The Lego Movie.

Nope it wasn't just you...although we do appear to be in the minority on this ;) .

Personally I thought it was fine but nothing special & couldn't understand why people had been raving on about it  ...
