I thought this film was brilliant. It was interesting how the individual relationships developed as the main character came into contact with new experiences, but overall how they depicted the perspective of someone with autism. The maths teacher's blatant humour was very funny too. 9/10

Subtitles at Wandsworth this morning as well. Which I just found too distracting. That and the fact the picture had to be smaller than it could be to accommodate them meant I had even less desire to put up with it, so I left.

What's with all the subtitles? A cock up - on an almost national scale? - or an intentional feature of the movie, given its subject matter?
Indeed, not having ever seen a screening classified as autism-friendly, I don't know if they are subtitled or just more tolerant of general restlessness etc.

I've seen no mention of it in reviews, so I'm assuming it's a cock-up. I'd be interested to see if any of the other screenings this morning had them too. I could see one of the Telegraph screenings on Tuesday but don't want to risk it happening again.

I saw this last week and we didn't have subtitles. It was a Times screening.

Autism friendly screenings aren't generally subtitled either. The lighting and sound levels are different in these.

I really enjoyed this film and felt it covered both the many difficulties as well as the genius encountered by Autism. All the actors were very good in their roles and although there were subtitles at the Edinburgh showings I soon managed to shut off from them.

Would certainly recommend a watch. 8/10

Went in with low expectations, but really enjoyed this film.

Subtitles in Cineworld, Edinburgh, this morning. I thought it was a cock-up, but, after reading these posts, I'm not so sure now.

I saw this last week at the Times screening and overall enjoyed the performances and thought the other storylines alongside the main theme of autism were told very well and convincingly. However, the ending was rushed and offered little in the way of resolution. A high 7/10 despite that and wonderful acting from all the under 18s.
