Totally agree with SimonV, why does hollywood continually want to remake horror movies and actually not change anything? From what i recall of the original movie the majority of it was exactly the same.
I was so glad it was only 1hour & 30mins it was so boring and lacked any tension, just cheap "jump scenes" to scare you.

Not really sure what to say about this. It was entertaining enough, I suppose. I wasn't really won over by the portrayal of Freddy. It was more sinister but just didn't feel believable. I really liked how the dream sequences were shot and there wasn't anything that was overly ridiculous. I stuck around for the second film which was the original, which I hadn't seen in close to 20 years. It was fuckin hilarious. Incredibly goofy in so many way, but I can see why I found it scary as a kid. It was good fun, but I was really surprised how many ideas/shots were lifted directly from the original for the remake. I think one or two homage sequences would be fine, but it struck me as just too many. It was a fun evening overall though even if the new one was "nothing to write home about"

I saw this on Thursday, must say I thought it was quite slow for a horror film. It especially didn't help, they kept us waiting for 1/2 hr so they could go around making enough photos of everyone for their website. My friend did don the Freddy costume and got a Freddy key ring as a prize.
The film was much slower and less gory than I expected and I wasn't scary as I had expected. I think the whole concept hasn't aged very well over the years and thats coming from someone who thinks the original is one of the best horrors out there.
I probably should have stayed for the original afterwards. I wonder how many people stayed behind? I remember the bathtub scene from the original, but it didn't have the Johnny Depp scene and I think the make up for Freddy didn't help to make it more scary. Freddy was well known as pizza face, I didn't see any pizzas flying around....
