Re: Nights out
Thanks ClareBarr! I did, we were in Circle Block 2 for Michael Ball, so quite far away, got a good zoom!
An old guy next to me left at the interval, but told me off for taking photos! So I told him politely, you are allowed to at gigs. I was very discreet too, as I did not want to upset the enjoyment of people round me. Only took a few at the end of a few songs, unlike some people who were actually recording!
For the Fashion Victim show - we sat in the middle of the room, and I snapped this right at the end when they were making their curtain call. I never do it while the show is going on, didn't want to disturb the concentration of people watching or the acting or the ambiance of the show, and I was too engrossed anyway.

Re: Nights out
People are always taking photos at these things, I wouldn't worry! I too try to be discreet...I always think it's not as bad as people checking their phones at the cinema - much more annoying! The second photo especially looks very professional :)

Re: Nights out
Thanks so, so much to valda for a night out at Forbidden Nights last night at the Clapham Grand, and letting all my friends come along too! A nice birthday treat for my friend too. We had such fun, after a few drinks! Very tongue in cheek and not as risque as I expected - Chippendales seems more saucy in their days and Magic Mike is still so much better!
They are the guys that were on BGT. Not fully monty, but the highlight is the laundry scene, which my friend snapped a brilliant photo on her iPhone. I knew it would be a winner so tweeted it, to win her the signed calender, as she is not on twitter!

Re: Nights out
I won tickets to the Magical Lantern Festival http://www.magicallantern.uk. It's the first time it's being held in the UK this year. These were displays of life size or maybe larger than life exhibits of lanterns - dragons, pandas, elephants, ants playing on a see saw, giraffes, the Monkey King etc. I can't really describe it in words, I have to work out how to upload photos or anyone interested should look on the website. All I can say is that while I was walking around there were hundreds of people and everyone was saying how beautiful it was. It was much more spectacular than I expected.
We arrived for entry at 5pm on Saturday. I didn't expect there to be hundreds of people waiting to go in. But there's a set route to walk, so you keep moving. Lots of loos en route and places to b*y food at the start, and during the route. There were also a lot of people working to make sure you didn't stray and get electrocuted! At 5pm it was still light, so the first few exhibits just looked pretty, but the darker it got, the more amazing and beautiful it became. It was a very well-organised festival.
We left at around 7.15pm and there were people still going in and one guy being pissed off as he hadn't b*ght his ticket in advance and there were none at the door.
Our group all enjoyed it, we ranged from mum and aunty to my young cousins, so one for the whole family.
It's been on for about a month and this is its last week. I think mid week is quite quiet so better for taking photos and 25% off ticket prices.
One tip is to take spare camera batteries or empty your memory card before you go. I put new batteries in before I left, but took so many photos I ran out!

You should try. Just been chatting to Jeanelle about it. She took almost 200 photos. Me too. I will email you some photos, but not all 200 that I took :).prettyxcool wrote:Ooh, thanks for this review. I really want to see this too! Not sure I have time now.

Re: Nights out
I went to the Press Night of Immortal Tango, now showing at the Peacock Theatre, and I must say it is a whole lot better than I was expecting.
I love tango, but the show is absolutely beautiful, dazzling and amazing. The dancing is incredible and brilliant, and the music and the singing by the two international stars was so pure and beautiful. The show got a standing ovation.
I suggest seats further back as you want to see the whole stage, as the dancing uses the whole of the stage.
I would love to see it, again and again.

Re: Nights out
Well I squeezed in the Lantern Festival before it finished, just!
Here are my photos to share with you:

Absolutely stunning and magical. Well worth a visit to West London, even though it is a quite a walk from the tube station, one mile!
Good job the day I went it was dry, although cold!
