Is the Trocodero shopping centre in London still open?

Me and my friend are heading down next weekend!

As far as I know it's now Picturehouse central and construction site for a hotel. There weren't any special shops in it before it shut down, just the same tourist tat ones you find all over London and an amusement arcade.

Was there something special about it you were after?

The Trocadero always was the least interesting shopping centre in the whole of London imho.

Last time I went a few of those shops had survived in half a hallway, so don't get excited if you see the original signage and an open door.

When I first went I thought it looked like something out of Bladerunner, escalators not working anymore with wires hanging down and all these market stall type tat shops having taken over the bottom areas of escalators and other circulation routes.

And remember when we went to screenings there, the carpet was so disgusting our feet used to stick to the floor!!

Im not entirely sure tbf! My friend said she really want to go and if it was still open i was gonna ask whats so special about it! but clearly nothing! lol

Is there anything/anywhere youd recommend for a sunday?
We're going to the cat cafe of the morning , then the cereal killer cafe, then china town but that's all at the moment!
I was thinking the hummingbird bakery or choccywoccydoodah but we did the latter last time!

You could always go to the new picturehouse that's there in its place. It's supposed to be really nice now and has seven bars or something. You just won't get the same trashy feel you would have had from the old trocadero

Do you really want to p*y over £3 for a bowl of cereal sold by some bearded hipsters?
As it seems to be a food trip, you could give ScandiKitchen in Great Titchfield Street near Oxford Circus a whirl, the food is yummy.

The best day to visit is a Sunday. Also lots of inexpensive ethnic cafes and restaurants.
Camden Lock - is worth a visit - lots going on around there too, and you may like Poppies Fish & Chips, voted best in London, served in newspaper boxes for the take-away option, or experience the 1940s in eating in the restaurant, or in the upstairs section, you will find a library of war books and comics to browse over coffee.
