I had a really big marathon session in the garden yesterday. Spent a couple of hours chopping more overgrown hedge away, bagging it up (in some of those large bags that builders have sand and gravel delivered in) and transporting it to the tip in my long suffering (and now full of spiders and other insects) estate car.

I have to date taken 18 bags worth away, but there's still lots more to do as the hedge had got massively high and wide and has been robbing the garden of light and actual space for years. I'm starting to see a difference now, but it really is one of those elephant tasks

I also managed to cut both the front and back lawns later on yesterday as well, just finishing as it was really getting too dark to see.

I'm up early this morning in readiness for driving one of my daughters and all of her stuff back to uni for her second year today. She was less than impressed to discover that my car is now "crawling with spiders", but obviously not so concerned that she could be bothered to vacuum it out before we loaded up her stuff before setting off.

I've just done my weigh in and can hardly believe that I've actually lost SIX pounds in my first week. o/

I'm conscious that purists may be confronted by this and say it's way (or maybe weigh ;) ) too much.

To them I say “Naah, Naah, Na, Naah, Naah - fingers in my ears, I can't hear you“ :p ;)

Seriously though, I'm mega chuffed and really spurred on by it.

Good luck, Diane and ClareBarr, for your own today's weigh-ins. :cross:

Thanks to both of you for your kind comments yesterday o/

Well, I'm just about to get some breakfast - porridge and blackberries, before setting off.

Have good days everyone. :D

Well congratulations all round to you Weight Watchers! I shall stand at the sides and applaud all of you while running in place so as to lose a gram or two myself. Lovely to see/hear so many of you back here and I plan to take full credit to motivating Diane65 and Mr G (which I did shamelessly in London a few weeks ago) to get this topic going again. I may not be one of you clever and motivated people but I do enjoy reading of your triumphs and hopefully lend a little bit of encouragement at times.

Now when Preston is finished with that hedge (I am thinking he must live in a National Trust property), could he please come round here and do some garden clearing for me? We have had scaffolding around the house for 2 months so not much has been accomplished in our garden. I have a million cooking apples on the ground so need to bake something but perhaps this is not the place to talk apple crumble.
