Not Receiving Email Alerts

still makes no difference. I marked all topics read just this morning, and unsubscribed and resubscribed just to be sure and still no alert, my alert is my fairy booking for me and the SFF ticket coming through but I have other people to book for myself.
oh another clue when there might be an FF alert is when I get an MSE alert. comes to something when you rely on alerts from other websites to let you know there might have been a post on FF here.

This could be because of multiple things happening in the FF forum.

When you make a post there, it doesn't let you know that your post is successful until AFTER the subscribed list has been alerted. This can take some time during which the initial poster thinks the post hasn't gone through and posts it again - and again. This happened today with the Times screening and I found 3 alerts in my in basket.

But what happens to the system when a repost happens? I think the current list its trying to get through is abandoned and starts over from the beginning. As there are over a thousand people subscribed we can quickly go over the email limit. Start blaming the repeat posters in FF as its highly likely that they are the reason the emails don't appear for you as you are probably way down the list, and I keep getting repeat alerts because the original poster doesn't open a 2nd window to see if the post went through.

I know I've felt like I'm at the bottom of the list, but there's no way of getting higher up that list other than a giant cull.

Don't you worry, I cull regularly.

I have the problem that it never seems to go through when I post on FF. But I know that by now and check it in another window. If it's there, I close the original window.

Btw, I get all alerts. I don't even want them as there's so many of them and I practically live on this site anyway. Maybe that's why I get them all? No idea.
