Well done on the pound that you've lost Diane o/ :cheer:

There's no need to feel disappointed with that you know, in fact taking into account all the temptations that you have been backed into various corners with recently ;) , it's quite a remarkable achievement. So you must have been doing something right. As EJ has said once all your mates get to know about your healthy eating program, you'll have a house full of plants as thank you gifts instead - much more diet friendly! :D ;)

Great to hear that Liquorice is in good nick. I hope that you've well and truly spoilt him now after all his fasting :D
ejwrank wrote:Well many congratulations to gym slogger, Preston with that weight loss. Impressive!
Thanks for the encouraging words EJ - In a rather brave move (well I thought so anyway  ) I'm doing my first ever Zumba class tomorrow at 9:30 am

Think of me sticking out as like a sore overweight uncoordinated thumb, as likely I'll be the only bloke among all of those fit and coordinated "knowing what they are doing" dance savvy young women. :D

Absolutely loved my Zumba class today, and reserved my place on the next two weekly sessions. o/

I was wrong about being the only bloke - there was actually two of us :shifty: ...and about 30 ladies 8O

That's me in the green and black....... ;)

"With a Shimmy" ... "Nice and Free"..........."Take it to the other side"......."That's the way!" :D

Did a half hour in the gym, and 20 mins in the pool, as well.

I've a spinning class at 8:45 tomorrow morning immediately followed by an aquafit session 8O

That should just leave time for a quick bite to eat before my regular 13:00 2 hr Wednesday class. :shifty:

Obsessional or what? :D

Oh no -- we have lost Preston to the gym...feeling a bit bereft that he has gone over to the dark side (or maybe the light side???).

Anyway, well done, Lord P and may you enjoy your gym day tomorrow. Thank goodness the hedge is done or it would be feeling a bit neglected.

I am already planning on knitting him some fetching legwarmers so he can look as good as the others.

Finally caught a break today and whilst I didn't leave work on time, I wasn't working until midnight. o/

Have managed to calibrate my oven temperature using a thermometer, so I can use it to cook things! I still need to b*y some pots and pans which work with my hob, but I'm making progress. Very nearly have a functional kitchen! o/ I'm ridiculously excited.

With all the long hours (on Monday I didn't eat anything until 11pm, didn't have time for breakfast or lunch), I've lost some more weight. Total weight loss since getting on the wagon is half a stone. o/ Found an old work photo in which I look like a whale - I don't recall being that fat, but the camera doesn't lie. Just goes to show there's a massive difference between what you think you look like and what you actually look like. The good news is that it's a before photo not an after one. :p

Waiting for a decision as to whether BUPA will give me any more physio. I've made a lot of progress, but I still can't exercise, so I do need more treatment. Like I said to my physio, I don't want to do any exercise, but I feel I should have the option and my leg won't let me, so it's still rubbish. :p Pain has gone right down, but I can't do anything more strenuous than walking. Even a quick sprint across the road is too much running, it flares up immediately!

Any weight loss is a win, so well done, Diane65. Preston1990, you are putting us all to shame with your exercise classes and gym visits. Go you. o/ And as ever, a massive thank you to the resident WW cheerleader ejwrank. It's always lovely to have your support in this thread!

There are a few people who have gone quiet (you know who you are!) so I hope your weight loss journey is going well even if you're not posting. And remember, if you've fallen off the wagon, you can always get back on at any time and start again. Falling off from time to time is ok.

Be good everyone! o/

Hahaha, thanks for the kind offer EJ but I can assure you it's not the lack of legwarmers that makes me stand out in my Zumba classes. 8O :shifty: Is it possible to knit me some coordination and stamina ;)

I found that I was even more humiliated in my "spinning" classes (aka studio cycling). I had not realised before but spinning is more than just sitting on a bike shaped object and turning the pedals. That bit is relatively easy, but it becomes really difficult when you've got to lift yourself out of the seat and do it standing up on the pedals because the bike's flywheel drives your legs continually - you cant stand on the pedals and then take a breather by freewheeling for a bit like on a normal bike. It was an hour of torture made worse by seeing my companions (all female - bar the instructor) doing it with ease and hardly even breaking sweat on their perfectly made-up faces. I, on the other hand, could have wrung a pint of sweat out of my T-shirt at the end - and after a few minutes of trying the stand up bits, just had to remain firmly attached to my bike seat for the rest of the class, through lack of strength/stamina........... and fear of triggering my next heart attack

I fared a little better in the Aquafit class in the pool - again I was the only chap which seemed to amuse some of the ladies but I did make a fair stab at the exercises. :D

Since getting the full daytime pass - I have done at least one class, swimming or a gym session every day. Sometimes all three o/

How strange then that I actually seem to have put 2 pounds on when I got weighed earlier today - of course it doesn't actually count, because its not Monday yet is it  .....but its a bit worrying though  I must be overcompensating for all the exercise by eating too much :wall:

Talking of eating - I was very pleased to receive a parcel earlier in the week containing some fabulous home made spiced apple chutney. It was actually hand crafted in a celebrity kitchen, soon to be featured in a special Christmas TV advert for a major upmarket high street store. The creator of this wonderfully delicious comestible is our very own, and very generous, ejwrank. Thank you so much EJ, your chutney is absolutely delicious. So far, I've had it with salads and corned beef sandwiches o/

I have actually started a "special favourite chutneys" shelf. There are two pots taking pride of place - Diane's Plum and Apple, and EJ's Spicy Apple - both magnificent examples of fine culinary delight. Thanks ladies :bighug: :bighug:

Great to hear that you are just about up and running of the cookery front o/
............ :shifty: ........have you ever thought about making chutney?.........just askin'

That's a great result asamaic o/ :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Very well done o/

Nice to hear that your leg pain has subsided, but a real shame that it still won't hold up under the stress of exercising. Keep on at BUPA to see if they will give you more physio - maybe couch it in terms of "my leg pain still occasionally flares up" rather than "my leg won't stand up to any running"

I've got to second that, and also mention our fantastic jojojoanne o/ Your feedback and encouragement drives us all on!! :D

I'm eventually minus one pound this week (at 9 pm tonight) after starving myself yesterday and this morning.

Zumba class number 2 tomorrow at 09:30.

Oh please let me have improved my co-ordination and sense of rhythm.

Well done Preston 1990 . I am mega impressed with all this exercise and how you are embracing the different types of classes. I too have lost 1lb so I'm happy. I'm on a late start today so deciding on menus - I much prefer an early start at work as I'm ready to go now.
