Went to see this in Didsbury last night, OH was working late & so I was on my own. Massive queues for tickets, orange 241 night, but no worries I already had my ticket so went straight upstairs only to be informed I had been given the wrong date. Good news though I could go & see any other film showing. Fancied Prince of Persia so phoned OH to see if she had finished work, answer no. Joined the still very long queue. After about 15 min got to the lad dispencing tix. Explained situation. Managed to blag a couple of tix for P of P on Sat. After reading reviews for Rec 2 I'm a happy chap.

Absolutely awful Movie. Me and my girlfriend watched it last night and thought it was a big waste of time, even more so for my girlfriend as she took a break from exams to watch it because it had been hyped up.
Not scary, very predictable, annoying characters, at least 10 people got up and left half way through the Movie, we only stayed until the end to see if it got any better.
It didn't.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to sit through it.
Maybe i wouldn't dislike it so much if it wasn't hyped up to be the scariest Movie of the year etc.

It's no way near as scary as Paranormal Activity.

Its a very frustrating Movie to watch also, as the characters are so badly underdeveloped, you don't really care when they die as you know nothing about them, and they make so many "dumb scary movie style" decisions that it just winds you up watching it.
Like when you see some girl running away from a serial killer in a movie and trips up on NOTHING, and then gets killed.
Dumb writing, dumb Movie.

Don't waste your time ...

was more of unintentional comedy (zomedie?) for me.

the camera obsessed strike team (keep recording! are you recording this? despite being attacked by beasties) made me laugh. and the utter stupidity of the team - it was like watching the 3 STOOGES, not a SWAT team.

good idea with the night vision though - that was very blair witch finale scary.

a misfire as a horror really, but good fun. perhaps that was the intention, mind.

7/10

haha, Steve, that sounds like the best result all round! A film you want to see and on a more convenient date. It's worth just turning up sometimes.

lol ta - i borrowed the word off Jonathan Ross (hangs head in shame..)

i tend to be overgenerous with film scores, so subtract 2 for an everyman score. i like films...

I've just spotted an offer on HotDealsUK for dvd of Rec (the first one - not Rec2) in case anyone is interested in b*ying it for less than £4 delivered. Though why you would want to is beyond me!

Nevertheless, here is a link:
