The Hairy Ape – The Old Vic
We are absolutely delighted to have just a few tickets for The Hairy Ape a new play by Eugene O’Neill on both the 30th & 31st October at 7.30pm in the legendary Old Vic theatre, Waterloo as we are looking for feedback for the producers.
The Hairy Ape tells the story of Yank, played by Bertie Carvel, a labourer who revels in his status as the strongest stoker on a transatlantic ocean liner. But when Yank is called a ‘filthy beast’ by the overbred daughter of a steel merchant, he experiences an awakening of consciousness that leads him on a journey through the wealthy neighbourhoods and disenfranchised underbelly of New York society. Searching for a way to belong, Yank is forced to confront primal questions about his true place in the world.

Absent Friends – The Beck Theatre
We have just a few tickets available over the two evenings of 5th & 6th November at 7.30pm in The Beck Theatre in Hayes for what sounds like a wonderful play – Absent Friends.
Summer 1974. A well-intentioned tea party descends into chaos. Wealthy, unfulfilled housewife Diana arranges a gathering of old friends to cheer up bereaved Colin, whose fiancée drowned two months earlier. Paul, her bullying, self-absorbed husband, has recently had a dalliance with Evelyn, the glamorous wife of his friend and incompetent business associate, John. The party is completed by long-suffering Marge, who has left Gordon, her hypochondriac spouse, ailing at home.
Preparations for the party spark tensions and open old wounds. As lingering resentments and deep-rooted jealousies surface, an unexpectedly cheerful Colin strolls into the mayhem.
