Wow Preston1990 that is just amazing.
I have maintained and the me that said I wouldn't be working ridiculous hours any more is working 52 hours this week
It is my own doing as I could have said no hence eating on the run and no time to exercise. I need to follow Preston 1990's example.

Re: Weight Watchers
Hello
I thought this would be the best place to seek advice and ideas please.
My husband's personal trainer has told him not to eat bread, cornflakes, porridge or fruit for breakfast for the next few weeks. I'm not sure about the logic behind not eating so much fruit, but hey, I don't get pa*d for my advice do I????
The PT said he could eat fish, eggs and avocado for breakfast. Although he loves smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, I'm not sure that eating that for the next 21 days is that appealing (even is I substitute mackerel). Plus I'm 100% positive I'm not going to be arsed doing scrambled fricking eggs every morning for the next 21 days too!
Does anyone have any tempting tasty alternatives please.
I told him to turn vegetarian - he did turn green at the thought, so I guess it's a start.
Thank you.

Re: Weight Watchers
Will need to catch up on my reading of posts on this thread..not been on here for a while. Scared to weigh myself but will do so soon...been a rough few weeks & have been comfort eating so I'm guessing I've gained weight!
Re: Weight Watchers
Right -- first of all many congratulations to Preston for another weight loss and also for negotiating another spinning class. As for the face pulls -- I think that instructor on your link needs to calm down a bit -- his delivery did not sound particularly encouraging to others so hope your gym instructor is a bit nicer!
As for dear Diane -- you should be congratulated for maintaining considering your work schedule must leave you little time for anything else. I must say I feel like I've experienced a spinning class just listening to your hectic schedule.
Sunny Saver -- why not get your OH to do his own breakfast and see what he comes up with? If you feel you have to do his breakfast, I'd get in a load of avocados and just have them with boiled/scrambled eggs each day. Also smoked mackerel can be served cold or hot -- get a packet and tell OH to help himself. I know, I'm cruel!
ClareBarr -- lovely to see you here again and hope that the weeks ahead are happier and you are back on track once you are feeling better.
Wonderful to see jojojoanne (my sister cheerleader) last night at the Burnt screening.

Re: Weight Watchers
Sunny Saver. I've got to agree with EJ when she says just get OH to make his own breakfast. He can then have whatever he wants
If that's a step too far, then show him this link:
http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/offers/all ... tbreakfast
or perhaps he could try his hand at making both of you this:
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2256 ... k-kedgeree
Diane. Well done not only for maintaining, but for remaining awake at work.
You need to try and look after yourself a bit more in my opinion. I'm serious, 50 odd hours a week plus all the other stuff that I know you do, is just too much
I'm recommending a pamper day for you at a Country House Hotel with a relaxing hot stone massage followed by a champagne afternoon tea.
ClareBarr. Welcome back Clare. I've missed you. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon.
EJ and Jojo. Many thanks both for your continued support
It was a bit of a milestone for me yesterday.
Did an 18 mile bike ride with my old cycling buddy. First real bike ride (as opposed to gym machine based stuff) in well over a year (maybe even nearer two). My back held up no problem at all, and it felt great to be literally "back in the saddle" and out on the roads and tracks once more.
Why is my experience at my yoga classes nothing like the blurb they write about them?
The Blurb: "Yoga will shape, tone and stretch the body by moving into and holding set positions whilst creating inner peace and harmony"
My Experience: "Yoga will cause incredible pain and discomfort by encouraging you to adopt seriously unnatural, extreme and largely unattainable body positions. It will leave you feeling completely exhausted, inadequate and like you have been involved in a car accident"
Be good everyone.

Re: Weight Watchers
Ejwrank/Preston: I should have said, OH gets up at 5.45-6.15am and, try as he might to be quiet, I always wake up. If he makes his own breakfast, that means he has to get up at say 5.30am, which means I wake up at 5.30am... you get the picture
.
I used to get up at 5.45am to go to work and, believe me, at that time in the morning, an extra five minutes in bed is sooooo precious!
I feel a bit ill looking at the Toby's Carvery breakfast. I can imagine all that grease and fat lying on the bottom of the serving dishes :). We were recently away and stayed at a hotel which cooked your breakfast to order, which was lovely at first, and then after a few days of looking at the grease, a little less so. They also had a mixed meat (I guess ham, chorizio etc) and cheeses option, so I asked the waitress what mixed meats there were. She said 'I dunno'. So I must write a little comment on TripAdvisor. People need to know due to allergies and stuff.

Re: Weight Watchers
Stick at it. Yoga defines your muscles differently to say weight lifting. It elongates the muscles instead of bulking, so you'd cut an even svelter dashing figure than already.Preston1990 wrote:

Re: Weight Watchers
SS, have you thought about crustless quiches? Basically eggs, milk, cheese and whatever you fancy. Make them in advance, portion up, freeze. You can take one out of the freezer the day before, and your OH can heat it up himself in the morning, simple.
I like to make little ones using silicone cupcake cases (because I love silicone bakeware) but you could use anything, really. The unhealthy and faffy bit about quiche is the pastry, once you skip it, not only is it better for you but a doddle to make.
Make your wet mix out of egg, milk and cheese and keep the filling ingredients separate, so you can assemble different flavours at the same time. You can put anything into a quiche that you like. Once you've filled each case with wet mix and filling, put some extra cheese on top.
I use lighter mature cheddar, grated finely as it seems to go further that way (and save on calories).
Alternatively, I do like scrambled eggs - they are so quick to make, the only faff is the washing up. Get your OH to do the washing up after work!
