Well Done, Diane!!
Re: Weight Watchers
Well Preston, you never cease to amaze -- all those inches gone and Xmas just around the corner so you can order up a new wardrobe -- lots of garish lycra for the spinning class????
Diane, you are doing very well to maintain considering your hectic schedule and these early nights which don't allow for lots of walks, etc. I was so sorry to hear about your mother's beloved cat. I am sure that your mum was glad to have you there to support her. And we know just how sad times like this are. Our pets become so much a part of our families that it is a terrible blow when they leave us. Take care of yourself.

Hahaha, Yeah right, DianeDiane65 wrote:Wow Preston1990 you will be certainly looking hot this Christmas
One of the first, and best, part time jobs that I ever got was my paper-round. It brought my first real taste of earning my own money and becoming independent of handouts from my parents. I was about fifteen or sixteen when I started. I used to cycle round to the newsagents on my old bike, load my bundle of papers into my canvas sack and set off to deliver them. My round covered two and a half streets. I did mornings, afternoons and Sundays. Each round took between 20 and 30 minutes between leaving and getting back home. For this I got the princely sum of £4.50 a week – a fair chunk of money in those days. At Christmas some of the customers would give me tips too.
Some of the mornings were bitterly cold and I used to wear my old, well-worn, thinly padded, green anorack with its fur edged hood that was typical teen wear back in the day. One particularly chilly year when the snow seemed to last for weeks and made the round times much longer, it became impossible to ride the bike. I resolved to b*y a warmer coat and some thermal insoles as I trudged through the arctic conditions. I visited the Blacks of Greenock shop in Newcastle and after much serious deliberation splashed out £60 (an absolute fortune back in the early 1970's) on a state of the art Berghaus coat. I absolutely loved that coat it kept me toasty warm for years, long after the paper-round became just a distant memory.
Eventually though, the ravages of time and the overeating and excess that I subjected my aging body to, took their toll, and this meant that I could no longer fit inside the aforementioned coat. Well, that is if I wanted to fasten it up that is. I could never bring myself to throw it out though, not just because of the good memories it holds, but also because it was in virtually as new condition.
It has remained in the back of my wardrobe for years, a reminder of earlier times.
……..Imagine my delight when I got it out yesterday, tried it on, and found miraculously that it fits me once again.
Maybe I am going to be so hot this Christmas after all
Re: Weight Watchers
Well you certainly will be warm this Chirstmas, Preston! How nice that you saved the coat and didn't give up on it. I gave away a few jackets recently that we b*ght in Beijing in the 80s and I wonder if I will be regretting that rash move now. Still, I hope someone is warm in our brightly coloured Peking down coats.
Well done on all the progress, Preston. You are an inspiration to everyone and it all started with some serious hedge trimming!

Re: Weight Watchers
No weight loss for me this week, although I haven't put anything on either so its not too bad I suppose.
I had wondered when I would start to plateau with the weight loss - seems like it's around about now
I had noticed that I was eating more last week but to be honest I was so blooming hungry after spending so much time exercising I couldn't stop myself............
besides, I thought I would let the others catch me up a bit
Talking of the others - where the heck is everyone these days?

Thanks also to JoJo and Diane for all of the support and kind words.
