Life During Wartime

Who else is looking forward to this, the latest Todd Solondz film? I know that Ethanrunt (and maybe other members) was lucky enough to see it at the LFF, but I didn't catch it, so am looking forward to the UK release on 23 April.

Finally getting a release? Saw a 2 star Empire review which seemed disappointing, but I'd catch it again when it's out.

Well, the reviews on IMDB are good enough; I loved "Happiness" (to which this is a sequel of sorts) and I've even met the director, very briefly, so I'm definitely seeing this. Besides, what else is there to look forward to at present?!

Alas, it wasn't as good as I hoped or as I recall Happiness being, but this genre (described by one reviewer as "Child Abuse Black comedy") is less unusual now. Still worth seeing but only 7.5/10 from me.

I had high hopes of this from the trailers, although moderated by some reviews.

The cinema was nearly deserted (4 of us in total), which I guess says it all.... A great cast, though, who played their parts well, but ultimately, this left me less than satisfied.
