Saw this is a nearly full Wimbledon Odeon. Having read the book, I was sceptical when I heard that Emilia Clarke was playing the lead. Having only seen her as the Mother of Dragons, I simply couldn’t visualise here as the uncultured, optimistic, wacky-dressing girl with the open personality and the big heart. I suppose this is why they have casting directors – people who can see past an actor’s previous role, and who know instinctively that they will be perfect for the part. So I admit that I was wrong, she was perfect in the role. She brought the right amount of emotion to the part. Likewise Sam Clafin was perfect for the role of Will – the aristocratic, adventure-loving city trader, whose life was brought to a virtual standstill by a horrific accident. So I had to brush aside my scepticism and say that this was a very good adaptation of the book. It should be as Jojo Moyles, the author, also wrote the screenplay – thus she knew what bits were important to keep in and what she could edit out. Pembroke Castle was also a big star of the film – it seemed to be always in the background and made me want to visit it one day. The film tackled a difficult subject with sensitivity and humour – just the right amounts of each. I enjoyed the film and I would def recommend it. 9/10

A full house in Cardiff with a few late entrants grrrrrr. I haven't read the book and was open to any storyline. Went on my own as, seeing the trailer, I thought OH would just grumble his way through it. Glad I made the choice.
I laughed, gasped and yes, a tear trickled down. Very much a chick flick but that is not said in any derogatory way. Underneath was a serious subject.

Those clothes and shoes, if she had so little money how did she get them?
I had lots of strange tights and stuff and I used to love wearing them... just boring stuff now:((

Seen this this morning with my Mum. Thoroughly enjoyed...we both did. Very emotional, considering we'd both read the book & knew what was coming!
Thought stuck very well to the book.

I saw this at Muswell hill Everyman cinema in a very small intimate screening. I was surprised there were quite a few empty seats so don't know if some people did not turn up or whether they just had not been booked. It was a very emotional film and i did find some tears running down my cheeks. My friend was also tearful as was the lady next to me so obviously the storyline was very touching. I never read the book so had no real expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. The acting was really good and I will definitely be recommending.

I thought this was a surprisingly enjoyable romantic tear-jerker with two likeable performances from Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, which certainly helped make it a lot better than I was expecting it to be.
It also benefited from a very solid supporting cast.
I have to admit to not getting something in my eyes towards the end however, though the women sitting either side of me certainly did.
Minus points to the Everyman Baker Street though who made us sit through 20+ mins of adverts and trailers beforehand (including a trailer for the film we were waiting patiently to see).

Highly enjoyable, quirky and very British film that tacked Somechallenging topics in a sensitive and thought provoking way.
I left with red eyes and a puffy face.

A disappointingly passive heroine. Unlike , say, Educating Rita she does not seek out challenges but just waits for the rich bloke to hand her presents. The point seems to be that wealth, not love, conquers all.

I saw this at the premiere last night. The producer wore black, Emilia Clarke wore some yellowy dress and the author black too.

A packet of tissues, Popchips and water were left on our seats. Although I shed a tear or two, I didn't really need to use the tissues.

I thought it was quite a sweet, sad, but funny film. I was expecting to cry more though.

Expected to need a tissue after reading all the reviews but although it was rather sad it was predictable. Two women in front of my daughter and I were sobbing and blowing their noses but we remained dry eyed.
A decent film and would watch it again. 8/10
