I haven't been to an Imax screening before so have really nothing to compare it with. I was glad we sat near the back as the screen was very large. I must admit the screen was so large sometimes my eyes were darting all over the place trying to capture all the action. I did feel sometimes like I was suffering a bit of vertigo looking over the top of spacecrafts so it does feel very real. I did enjoy the large screen but I don't think I would want to p*y nearly £18 off peak and £20 peak time for a ticket!

that Leicester Square screen is one of the most unconvincing IMAX screens I've seen. Sure its high, but its width leaves something to be desired, largely down to the cheat curvature of the screen that allows it to claim a width that it really doesn't possess. Way less than its claim as one of the largest in the UK.

If I'd pa*d for a ticket there I'd be asking for my money back, the Kingston screen is much wider and that's one of the "lesser" IMAXs.

hmm as someone who goes to empire imax for like 90% of the imax movies i have to object, the empire imax screen is infact wider than the waterloo imax screen (by only 0.5meter if i remember) which in turn is much wider than the "lie-max" screen at odeon kingston...

infact the empire imax screen is so wide that when watching (2.4ratio)cinemascope movies there in 3D you have to sit in the last 4-5rows to get the screen to "fit" inview of both your 3d glasses lenses and therefore get the 3d effect to work properly.

just so you know, all the odeon imax screens are deemed "lie-max" except the waterloo one which is a real imax screen owned by the BFI but just "run" by odeon the past 4 years.

well it might have something to do with us sitting near the bottom due to availability of seats, but the curvature plays a part in shortening the claimed length in practice though its clearly a long screen physically.

Really enjoyed this. Very clever script by Simon Pegg, just enough subtle humour and in jokes!
I'm not a Trekkie at all, but thud was good fun entertaining get away from it all 2 hours.

I saw it at 3d at vues extreme screen in Westfield, which as its a very dark looking film and the xtreme screen is not very bright, and the 3d glasses made it darker ect... It didn't help the experience, I should of watched it 2d or in 3d at imax as its much brighter.

Anyways the movie is quite fast paced with scenes on top on scenes, and fast editing made me feel like I may of missed something and would have to rewatch it.

Overall I liked it, yes the story is a bit cheasy, and felt a pit like "the motion picture" but after the trailers made out it was going to be rubbish I was surprised it was watchable to me.

I'll watch it again for sure but at imax laser.
