I would like to thank everyone that helped out and voted. I'm sad to say even though I ended up 6th in the number of votes (and then mysteriously slipped to 7th after voting had closed). They seem to have completely disregarded that in selecting their winners.
So sorry for wasting people's time (and my own!)

I complained once about a comp and not receiving the prize, and all I got from ASA was that they upheld my complaint, I did not get anything out of it. The competition organisers didn't apologise or give me the prize, so disappointing. But worth a try.

The first or second rule in the t&cs was they they had the right to change the rules.

Thanks to people that have made comments in comments section. They've asked people what they think of the winners and all the comments are about how the comp was run. ;)

Seems as if complaining to the ASA is a waste of time these days. I posted about a photo voting comp with Don't Panic online. The company was supposed to award prizes to the top seven photos with the most votes. In the end, they awarded to about 2/3 of the top seven and the others were ones they wanted to give prizes to. Some entrants complained to the ASA and the girl with the highest number of votes received this today from Paul Wheeler of the ASA:

'Thank you for contacting the Advertising Standards Authority, I’m sorry to learn this matter has caused you concern.
You may be interested to know that we have received a complaint recently which was very similar to yours and so we assessed the ad highlighted and, from the information we had, we thought the competition likely to have breached the Advertising Codes (“the Codes”) that we administer.
We explained the concerns raised to Don’t Panic and provided guidance to them on the areas that require attention, together with advice on how to ensure that their advertising complies with the Codes.
Due to the action that has already taken place, we don’t propose any further action in regards to your complaint, however I would like to thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your concerns.'
What a waste of time really. Wonder what the point is of having the ASA.

Totally agree. That's what I found too. They agree with your complaint but nothing is done.
