You pick a squad, and they pick up points individually based on goals scored/conceded, etc...

Odeon are doing as showcase are showing the England games live free

ODEON are screening England 2010 FIFA World Cup ™ matches at cinemas across the country, so fans can cheer on their team in style.

Forget crowded pubs with beer being spilled down your back, instead you can sit in your own seat (or stand and cheer!) while seeing every detail of the game on the big screen.

And better yet, it’s free for all the family! Just pop down to the cinema box office to pick up your tickets and enjoy.

Confirmed screenings are:
2010 FIFA World CupTM - England v USA (Saturday 12th June, 7.30pm)
2010 FIFA World CupTM – England v Algeria (Friday 18th June, 7.30pm)

At:

Odeon Bath
Odeon Birmingham
Odeon Covent Garden
Odeon Guildford
Odeon Kingston
Odeon Norwich
Odeon Sheffield
Odeon Telford
Odeon Trafford Centre
Odeon Wimbledon

Well I have tried to do this pick a squad thing but I clearly don't know what I am doing. I constantly got admonished for choosing too many players from one country or overspending, so in the end I gave up. Can't be bothered. Sorry. We have a sweepstake at work and they want £3 for the who wins each group draw and £5 for who wins the World Cup!!!!

A colleague has brought in "World Cup Cakes" his wife made, and they have all the national colours of the people in the office, so apart from UK ones we have German, Italian, Scottish and Australian ones. LOL.

You need to copy and paste the league code that was included in my post about it. That will join you in the league and you will be able to see how everyone else who is doing. Hope that makes sense - oh by the way I think the box for entering it is on the right hand side.... Let me know if you have any probs and I will try to talk you through it step-by-step.

That is so funny. I am listening to Juergen Klinsmann talk English on BBC Sport, he has lived in the USA for a number of years, and yet I can hear the Stuttgart twang in his voice!

The quote of the day surely must go to my OH, who, when I asked him whether that guy was Maradona with a beard, said "Don't be silly, Maradona is a woman."

I think he meant Madonna.... :giggle:
