Has anybody seen King Kong at the Vaults Theatre? I've snagged a SFF for a ticket on Wednesday but there aren't alot of reviews about.

its slapstick really. starts weak but ends well. I'd not sit through it again (apart from the last half hour).

Got to see Sacrifice by the Icelandic Dance Company on Friday night.

An eclectic mix of dance, music, art and film. Very much an acquired taste but through central tickets a very enjoyable evening.

Show started at 7pm, finished at 11pm.

went to the Science Fiction thing at the concrete mess that calls itself the "Barbican" . It was a bit crud really, like an extended version of my bedroom from 10 years ago before I decided to get rid of a lot of clutter. People pa*d for this? A paucity of content for a £15 ticket, in my opinion.

There were nibbles provided by Sky but only the ones in open bowls that I'm sure the pyss-on-your-hands club had been at earlier so I certainly didnt want to try them. The free drinks were appreciated after trekking out to the Barbican.

On that topic, the "Barbican" is really difficult to navigate round when you come out of the exhibit into the dark night air. There is not one single map nearby or a sign telling you where the Thames is. And good luck asking someone, London people treat you like a ghost! You end up travelling in circles. Appalling city planning there. The one positive of that night was realising by accident that Islington is easily reachable on foot from Central London.

Saw Yerma. It was pretty good, felt like watching a bbc tv drama, mind you. Bit self-indulgently melodramatic towards the end though. Unintentionally comic final scene. The female lead was a bit young to be playing a middle aged woman.

That is true at the beginning she looked right, a successful career woman.

Well there's only supposed to be three years between Act 1 and Act 2, so she's not supposed to look that different by the end. Not more than a couple of years older than BP is in real life.

She referred to herself as middle aged about midway through, so I was going with her in her late forties by then, but you have the passage of time worked out better than that. SHe must have been using the term middle-aged very loosely (under stress).
