Saw the film Edie with Sheila Hancock.

Scenery and acting were superb. The film was made really really really well.

Story had emotion, but as usual I found it lacking an ending. It had a beginning, middle and then left me with loads of questions.

I really enjoyed Edie last week which I saw at the Times screening. I loved the scenery and the music which could have been an advert for Visit Scotland! The 2 main actors worked very well together and their relationship was very good. I thought the story was well handled . . .the older lady who felt she had achieved so little in her life and the young man who had so many ambitions.
It certainly isn't a thrilling film but kept my attention throughout and I did feel empathy for the 2 main characters.

Saw this in Wimbledon last night. A poignant film dealing with a woman in her 80s (Edie - played brilliantly by Sheila Hancock) finally coming to terms with freedom after being her invalid husband’s carer for thirty years. Although her way of expressing this freedom was pretty bonkers (i.e. climbing a remote mountain in Scotland), as it was the first time in her life she could do exactly what she wanted, I could very much understand why she wanted to do it. I enjoyed the film, particularly Sheila Hancock’s and Kevin Guthrie’s (as Jonny, her guide) performances. I liked the very moving soundtrack and thought the cinematography – especially the sweeping views across the Scottish landscape - was excellent. A very credible 9/10

An enjoyable film with the very talented Sheila Hancock, trying to find meaning and re-capture the life that she felt she had lost, and her young guide, Kevin Guthrie, who has so much still ahead of him. Both lovely to watch.

Scenery is absolutely stunning, like an ad for Scotland. It makes you want to go on a hike. However, some scenes, I felt were a little forced,

the boat drifting to the right spot, finding the home of a hermit, who feeds and dries her wet clothes out of nowhere.

A simple story, full of tenderness and determination, but above all inspiring, you can achieve anything regardless of age, and break free from a life once lived, at times quite sad, through circumstances, how one's life can be lonely and lost.

I felt a little unsatisfied with the ending though. It left me wanting more.

i also really enjoyed this little gem of a film. wasn't expecting it to be so funny! beautifully acted and gorgeously shot. about half way through i started planning a holiday in Scotland!

A simple but inspirational tale about Edie, a woman in her eighties, who after years of being a dutiful wife to her controlling husband is finally free to achieve her lifelong ambition and climb a mountain. Aided by her young guide Jonny, Edie achieves her dream through sheer determination. She urges Jonny to break free and not waste his life as she has done but to follow his dreams.

Beautiful scenery and well acted. I enjoyed this film.

As above.. I saw it on Monday 14/5/2018 and loved the performance of Sheila Hancock and Kevin... Great photographic scenery... A film about recapturing, reclaiming one's identity after years of duty and how your kids don not necessarily know what is best for you 7/10

Thought this film was rather 3rd rate. However I acknowledge that Sheila Hancock did astonishingly well to climb and be filmed at the same time, such a high mountain.
