No post yet, really?
Suppose it is a strange film.
Would recommend though.

Really enjoyed this animation, the story is unique, fresh and quirky. A charming and cute adventure, around a young boy, who is looking for his dog with the help of a pack of dogs that had been exiled due to an outbreak of "dog flu". It also has humour and the visuals are very engaging, with stunning Japanese imagery and a very intelligent script. A repeat viewing is needed as there is so much to see in each frame. 10/10

The free exhibition of the film is well worth a visit too. Ends this Sunday, 8 April at 180 Strand, London WC2R 1EA (next to King's College London and Somerset House).

See the original sets and puppets from the film, all curated by Wes Anderson himself. Even a life size noodle bar where you can eat the ramen (not complimentary). Awesome!

I loved how the dogs with "snout fever" politely turned away when they sneezed.
I wanted to adopt them all.

Yes, they were very well mannered and polite - typical characteristics of the Japanese! :D

Oh that was interesting but it doesn't stop them talking during films though. However, they do apologise and stop when asked.

We just watched this in the Kids Club at our local cinema and had to leave after an hour as it wasn't really suitable for our two and four year olds!! It sounded ok from the synopsis and got a good imdb score so I didn't read the reviews!

I love this, its clever and of course very Anderson, but his work particularly suits stop-go animation.

Doesnt outstay its welcome either as its only an hour and half. The premise is odd though, why the Japanese wanting to get rid of their dogs.

Subtitles might be missing from the streaming version? The Japanese dnt have them when they speak, though its just as likely deliberate....its about the dogs not understanding our language after all, but still working it out!

4 stars.
