What does your username mean?

#1 Post by andrews » Sun Jul 12, 2009 8:43 am

On our previous site, we had a thread where people disclosed how they came to choose their usename for the site. Being of an inquisitive nature, I have decided to set it up again here, so that I (oops I mean we) can find out how we came by our usernames.
Mine is fairly, no really, unimaginative - andrews - a family name.
I know that many of you have absolutely great usernames, so please enter into the discussion. Thanks! o/

My username really belongs to my beautiful cat. MooMoo was abandoned by previous tenants of a nearby property. Why did we call him MooMoo? it just sort of suited him. He is white and has one bright blue eye and one pale green eye. I just love it when I take him to the vet's. The poor vet has to stand there and call out MooMoo, MooMoo.

This is what I put on the old site......

Well mine is really boring but seems to have stuck.

When first training as a complimentary therapist we were set an assignment of creating our first publicity leaflet. Everyone else had thought of really cool names and I had planned just to use my name. With the leaflet prepared and one day to go, I felt extremely foolish not to have thought of something more substantial. I started to panic as everything I came up with seemed so lame and hubby told me I needed to chill out and de-stress. Hated the chill out but decided de-stress was one of the ultimate aims of the treatments and decided to go with that but it looked too small in the space my name had been so just ended up adding the "erai" to create "destresserai". Funny thing is my tutor actually noted on my assignment form that I had obviously realised that an operating name was vital and it was clear that I had spent a lot of time deciding what would create a good corporate branding for my business - I kept quiet that it had actually been an afterthought!

I had no idea what I would use as a username at the time of registering on this site. I have a very Scottish name but didn't want to use that - and certainly did not want to advertise the year I was born - so I couldn't think of anything original or wonderful like some of you. I had just been reading something about Christopher Biggins and, although I am female, I am not a size zero (unfortunately) so I thought BIGGINS - that will do and so I have used it here and on another few sites also. My friend who goes to the free screenings with me didn't like Biggins and came up with a few other suggestions!!! NOT ONES I WOULD USE!!!
Asked her to come up with something intelligent - so that has keep her quiet since!!! But she is still my bestest friend ever. :star:
