Re: Heartbreaker
Sister, friend and I saw this at the Apollo last night. It was almost full, and hilariously the usher made everyone squeeze in literally just before the movie started.... so no one really came in after that anyway! We didn't get any trailers though..?
We really enjoyed it - some laugh out loud moments and some cringeworthy ones too. The fork scene was just too funny and had me open mouthed with shock! EEK!!! Loved the dance scene and the sister and husband too. I'd never seen a French rom com before, and was suitably impressed. Would gladly see it again but hopefully not so far close to the front as we were - luckily it wasn't 3D!

Re: Heartbreaker
Saw this last night and thought it was the best free movie I got tickets for in ages!! Especially after the rubbish Dear John!! I thought it was totally believable that she ditched Andrew Lincoln at the altar - especially after she revealed what happened in her year out, I assumed she was marring him to be the sensible grown up that she wasn't when she ran off with the band and missed her mothers funeral. Also when she says Dirty Dancing was about wild love (or something to that effect) I thought it was clear there was none of that with Andrew Lincoln.
Anyway loved, loved loved this movie!

Re: Heartbreaker
Yeah, although a lot of women love Dirty Dancing and they don't all run off at the altar because their fiancee is too nice and dependable. That was the one thing that didn't gel with me - a professionable heartbreaker like him, apparently in tune with what women want, had never seen Dirty Dancing before?

Re: Heartbreaker
Saw this in Edinburgh in the tiny screen 2 at the Cameo and loved every minute.
it was well thought out and clevery crafted. It was generally well acted but I did think that Andrew Lincoln was a tad too wooden, even though his charachter was supposed to be dull.
i just hope Hollywood don't do a quick release American version since it's been so successful in France - that would probably not be nearly as good as the original. If you haven't seen it yet (how is that possible with the number of screenings) - go!
9/10 from me.

Re: Heartbreaker
I loved, loved, loved this film -mind you - I didnt realise it was subtitled until andrews pointed it out as the film was about to begin.
However, I am quite a fan of European movies, I must admit.
I laughed heartily from start to finish, the acting was fantastic and the characters totally believable.
The scenery was stunning (as was Vanessa's corture). A lovely, entertaining romcom -probably the best one I have seen yet...The ending did not dissapoint either. We were discussing on the way out how this would just not have had the same appeal had it been in English, and would certainly have been spoilt if it was American.
I could happily sit through this again with the girlies and something sparkly.
For me 9.5/10

Re: Heartbreaker
I enjoyed it and I'm very hard to please when it comes to romantic comedies. It cheered me up after a hot and boring day. I was surprised by how much of the French I could understand. Loved the sidekicks who turned up everywhere and the Dirty Dancing routine and it was less saccharine than most American rom-coms- I hope they don't do a re-make. 7.5/10
