The Karate Kid
Re: The Karate Kid
Saw this yesterday in Vue, Cabot - which was full - people even brought in seats from the foyer so they could watch it!
I thought the film was good though agree with an earlier comment about them calling it "Karate Kid" when it was kung fu! I liked Jackie Chan and thought it was nice to see him do a more serious role. I'm not sure if I missed something though as it appeared at the end of the film that it was censored a bit - one minute they were at the side of the ring celebrating (with the other instructor looking on angrily) and then next they were walking off with the other instructor on the floor behind them - did they cut out Jackie Chan kicking his butt?

Re: The Karate Kid
Watched this film at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I'd never seen the original Karate Kid and was worried it would be too much about karate for my liking. However it also had a good story and whilst it was predictable, it was the ending I wanted. Good for couples to watch as well as children.

Re: The Karate Kid
Saw them setting up for what I can only assume must be the premier at Leicester Square earlier today. I had to remember we're in July and it wasn't for Chinese New Year... Granted, I wasn't wearing my glasses so couldn't really read all the 'Karate Kid' branding all over the gaff.
Preferred cinemas: All Central London: APOLLO Piccadilly, EMPIRE Leicester Sq; ODEONS: Leicester Sq/Covent Garden/West End/Whiteleys/Panton St; VUE: West End/Fulham/Islington, CINEWORLD: Haymarket/Shaftesbury Ave; Brixton Ritzy,
Then: Westfield, o2, Clapham

Re: The Karate Kid
I saw this at Birmingham Odeon and i have to say i quite enjoyed it.
Was very packed for a Sunday morning and quite noisy to begin with but everyone slowly settled down, with the help of someone shouting "shut up" which worked a treat.
This film made me feel good, nice to watch with kids as well. Did not know what to expect at first but the acting from both Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith was great. It was also good to see some changes rather than being a carbon copy of the original, which i think is a classic in itself.
Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith were both on Radio 1 this morning, with Smith telling Chris Moyles and the others about receiving a sword for his birthday and also owning a bow and arrow, wouldn't wanna cross him lol even though he's only 12.
Overall I would probably give Karate Kid an 8/10 as its an enjoyable feel good film :-)

I saw the movie almost a month ago at a preview screening and really enjoyed it. It was better than I expected and I even teared up a bit.

Saw this film at a preview with showcase cinema on Sunday 11th July. Fairly full cinema and great film, really enjoyed it and I am not a karate fan although my husband is. Thought it was better than the original.
