Together with all the other junk mail today I've received through the post " An exclusive invitation to become a Telegraph Subsciber"

It says: ".... Loyal readers save 50% and enjoy special privileges....these include: free film preview screenings , priority booking, free tickets and subsciber only events, great food and drink offers, specially selected garden offers and events..." It also has a picture of a plastic "privilege card"...

They've decided to follow "The Times" in that....

The last three Telegraph screenings have technically been like that.

I'm a subscriber so will always have access to codes. I've been moaning at them anyway as they've not had any screenings in Scotland since they technically went subscriber only.

Anyway, if someone wants my personal offer code for 50% off - let me know, I'll PM it to you.

Free DVDs in (sort of..) the Telegraph and SUnday Telegraph this weekend.

Like Water for Chocolate and Bicycle Thieves with The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph this weekend...

But watch, they are not included. "p*y postage and receive these two free classic foreign language films"

Like Water for Chocolate
Nominated for a BAFTA and Golden Globe, this beautiful love story tells the story of Tita, the youngest of three daughters in a Mexican family in the early 1900s. Being the youngest she is forbidden to marry and instead must look after her mother. She falls in love with Pedro, who asks for her hand in marriage.

However, Tita's mother refuses and offers him Rosaura, Tita's elder sister, instead. Pedro accepts Rosaura just to be close to Tita. Tita finds this too much to bear and reacts by pouring all her emotions into her cooking, with dramatic results..

Bicycle Thieves

Vittorio de Sica's remarkable 1947 drama of desperation and survival in Italy's post-war depression earned a special Oscar for its affecting power. Shot in the streets and alleys of Rome, De Sica uses a real-life environment and cast non-professional actors to frame this moving drama of desperation.

The impoverished Antonio's new job delivering cinema posters is threatened when a street thief steals his bicycle. Too poor to b*y another, he and his son take to the streets in an impossible search for the bike.

This landmark film defined the Italian neorealist approach with its brutal portrayal of post-war life, its truthful acting, its compassion and poetic rhythm. De Sica uses the wandering pair to witness the lives of everyday folk whilst ultimately depicting a story of love and hope between father and son.

No mention of how much the P&P is...
