Re: Coco Before Chanel
Oops I was so busy moaning about the latecomers at Fulhma, that I forgot to mention the film.
It was ok, very beautiflu to look at but my goodness what a miserable person she was. I really couldn't understand how she got away with treating the men like she did, when if it weren't for them she wouldn't have gotten anywhere. I wish the film focused more on the actual fashion side of things, there again the story is from before she got famous 6/10

Went to see it in Bolton, cinema pretty full, and quite a few late comers
Didn't realise the film was in subtiles, thought it a little slow and borring, my friend hated it. So only a 5/10.

Re: Coco Before Chanel
Saw this at Cineworld, Glasgow last night. Lucky Charm we have probably passed each other tons of times in recent screenings now !!
As usual Mum and I sat in the back row. Unfortunately my Mum is only 5ft3 or thereabouts and when a bloke sat in front of her she had to lean forward in her seat to read the subtitles. I should have gotten her one of the bolster seats to sit on !!
Cinema was pretty full. Sooooo annoying when the film has started and peeps are still trotting in - particularly with a subtitled film where you are having to bob about to read the screen when they are trying to find seats and walking in front of everyone !!! grrrrr Surely peeps who go to previews regularly should know that if a film says 6.30pm, then it starts at 6.30pm!!!
Thought it was a really nice film. Interesting to see how women were treated in those days, although Coco certainly gave as good as she got and did the best she could under the circumstances. It did end a bit abruptly when it scooted forwards to her being a successful clothes designer, but that's not what the film was about.
I would give it a respectable 7/10

I was in the back row for that screening!! We were kind of right at the aisle, so must have been sitting really close! From what I remember there only were about 8 people in the back row.Calicocat wrote:Saw this at Cineworld, Glasgow last night. As you look up the stairs we were literally just to the right of the aisle on the back row. Two ladies sat right beside us at the top of the stairs just as the film was starting.lucky_charm wrote:I was in the back row for that screening!! Laf - I will need to start wearing my FMUK badge so we can say 'hi' next time! Are you going to see Antichrist at Cineworld tomorrow?
