Enquiry

#1 Post by growler » Sat Jun 20, 2009 7:14 pm

Hey there. I'm new to these parts but have an enquiring mind. How can you get tickets for people who seem to be posting wanted ads when it breaks the regulations?

It doesn't break any rules or regulations that I know of. Seefilmfirst, for instance, actually provide the apparatus for giving tickets to friends.

I am aware that you can ask See Film First for a change of name if you want to give ticket to a fiend once in a while. But I wonder is it in the spirit of things?
I have read the forum rules too and don't understand the purpose of Swap Central. If you don't want people to 'hoard' tickets how can the offered side work?

There are people who are known to not be able to book tickets themselves during working hours, and thats when most codes appear. So those of us who keep track and can book tickets, have regular locations to book for as we know they will be accepted by someone here. Any spares end up in offered.

So who decides what hoarding is and what isn't? And what is definition? I would hate to be banned when I've only arrived. :-)

Hoarding is pretty much going through the entire list of cinemas available on an SFF code and booking tickets at all locations.

my query is really aimed at Beate but then instead of PM I thought I'll post the question up for future ref for others and I think someone has asked previously but I'm too lazy to go back to the old FMUK :red:

Q: I used my free cineworld tickets in exchange to watch Harry Potter so is that classed as a "free film" in the Film Club? :p
