It's the prequel, so probably not. I'm not really a sci-fi fan either but really like BG - I'd say give it another go if you like Caprica.

I'm 3 episodes into series 3 of BG and have to say it's not as good at the moment. I gather it's from when the writers strike was on, so it sort of makes sense, but it's a bit annoying as it's been soooooo good until now. It's not bad, just average. I hear it gets better again though.

I have watched the first few episodes of Caprica now and it looks as though it's going to take some getting used to. I feel they are building up character profiles/histories etc. Still, I think it looks promising. Will stick with it for the meantime....

I agree - I was trying to take it all in with the language / technology / characters etc. However I taped the first three episodes and watched them in a row - I thought it was great. I tried to sit through an episode of BG and I really couldn't. If I get into a few seasons of Caprica then I'll give BG another go - but BG on its own just about ticks all my boxes for TV hell!.

Oh opas, do give BG another go. I was given Series One as a Christmas Present a few years ago. I was fairly unexcited by it, and left it on a shelf for months. Then one night, there was nothing on TV, and we brought it out and watched about 4 episodes one after another - I was hooked!

Ah we're saving Caprica until we finish BG. Almost finished the 3rd series, so not long. I had heard it was amazing (Caprica, that is) but a friend said the first episode was rubbish... I've told him to give the next few episodes a go and then tell us what he thinks. I agree with Andrews that a few episodes in and you're hooked! Expect it'll be the same with Caprica?

Does anyone know if there are any channels showing reruns fof BG - you guys are swaying me on my serious dislike of BG! I'll give it a go but I don't think I'm ready to part with hard earned money getting the DVD box set, that would be a step too far!

Does anyone know if or when this series is going to return? It took a mid-season break and we haven't seen or heard anything about it since.

I'm not sure - I watched what I thought was the whole of the first series of Caprica and was hugely underwhelmed. I actually found it a chore to finish... was anyone else unimpressed?
