Help! Career advice!
Re: Help! Career advice!
My sister has a CQSW and although she specialises in a different area (adult mental health), she had as much work as she could handle when she was temping through agencies. She was also offered permanent employment in the temporary posts if she wanted it. Would agencies not consider you? You have to be able to start acquiring UK experience somewhere!

Lol, I'm tempted to do just that. But I am also aware that the UK legislation is different, so I know I wouldn't function as fully as someone who already has UK experience. I find it a bit dishonest which is why I find it impossible to embellish my achievements. Anyway, you're right about trying when I get back, it might be easier that I think!!!jmd1983 wrote:It might be easier when you are back. Just apply for anything and everything. Even if it says you need UK experience, bit cheeky I know but once you've got yourself an interview you can explain how great you are and how much experience you have.

Agencies say I don't have enough experience! That's UK agencies. Overseas I'm told I've got a very good CV and this by people who work in child welfare!Ms Thrifty wrote:My sister has a CQSW and although she specialises in a different area (adult mental health), she had as much work as she could handle when she was temping through agencies. I've been trying Local Authorities for placement opportunities, let's see how it goes
