Flights to New York - advice please
I would like to go to New York in October, and have been looking at BA, KLM and Air France - exhorbitant prices to say the least. I only want to have a seat, not b*y the aircraft for goodness sake.
Does anyone know where I can b*y tickets where I am not going to be charged an arm and a leg?
Thanks.

Andrews, do Continental not fly to Newark, New Jersey direct from Newcastle? I think they might. The trip from Newart to NYC is about the same time as JFK into the city.
If you go from London, American have a flight sale on just now too.

Omygosh I am so jealous!! I am desperate to go to NY I keep boring my bf and parents by telling them all the time
. My parents went in June for their anniversary and had an amazing time, not sure who they flew with but I think they flew to Philadelphia then got the bus to NY... Think they said Philly was only two hours away but i may have got that wrong I'll ask tonight and I'll also ask who they flew with.

Re: Flights to New York - advice please
I use http://www.skyscanner.net - I find it very comprehensive and often brings up a list of the cheapest flight than any other website I know. As I always tailor my holidays, this is essential to help me find something cheap.
The cheapest I have found for you from Durham Tees Valley (I don't know if that's even near you btw
) to New York for two people is £456.00 with KLM which woorks out to be £223 per person which I think is fairly decent for a trip to New York near end of October. (Although it was indirect though which means the flight will be abit longer.) Obviously, it goes without saying, the earlier in advance you book, the cheaper it will be (and I know you know that).
The other search engine I use is kayak which has also proved to be useful on many occasions.
You've got the normal suspects expedia, lastminute.com etc etc but I know for sure skycanner searches expedia in it's search so that's my number one recommendation.

Oh yeah I would second skyscanner I used it all the time to find cheap flights home and back again when I was living in France. Only problem it's sometimes not updated that quickly if you book last minute it sometimes shows the wrong price.

Lol, I'm not sure if andrews is that last minute. Thanks for pointing that out LC, I will remember that for the future myself as I've never done it very last minute either!

Have you tried momondo.com? They pretty much are a lock for finding the best prices out there.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
