My God, seems so looong ago

Nope, its not a another new film to be released with a stupid title. No, this is a spin off from the Diary thread where a wave of nostagia suddenly hit everyone as they regressed to their much younger days when things they were doing/watching/playing were distinctly of the times!

To recall a few good ones from the diary thread:

SunnySaver remembers the days when children would fear their teachers and be cained by them!

a_person remembered Win 95 with fondness...

...until Diane65 knocked that outta the park with her recollection of playing Manic Miner on her Sinclair ZX Spectrum! (gosh, so do I, but I was secretly jealous of the Commodore 64 owners!!)

Beate remembers falling asleep in front of the telly and waking up to a "test screen"! (oh again so do I, on a glorious b&w tv). She also remembers owning the coolest gadget on the planet...The Sony Cassette Walkman!

prettyxcool remembers typing...on a manual typewriter!

So what else do you remember...without feeling depressed about your age, lol.
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

I remember having to wear a vest underneath my clothes!!! Now that's a very long time ago as I.... ahhh lets leave it there! :shifty:

I also remember trying to be forced to do PE in a vest and knicker. If anyone does that to my child, I'll beat the living daylights out of them.

I remember half penny sweets and collecting for bazooka bubble gum items like 3d glasses!

I remember when wagon wheels were huge!

I remember when jubbly ice lollies were too big for my hands and always popped out and fell on the floor!

I remember how rich I felt when I was given a pound note for a birthday present!

I remember when birthday parties were just at home with balloons, streamers, jelly and blancmange and no goodie bags!

Oh the list could go on.......................

Lol. Did you beat the living daylights out of the teacher for doing it to your kids? :D

I always found it disgusting and never understood why this was allowed. Now a days child protection bans this sort of behaviour but I sure wish that was enforced years ago back in my time. I can still feel the rage I did back then when teachers were allowed to be forceful. Sometimes I don't blame today's youth at being so rebellious....

By the time I came along, I remember 1p sweets. OMG, Haribo cola bottles, *licks lips*

Oh and I remember going to the cornershop and b*ying sweets in pounds, not grams... particularly aniseed balls, pear drops etc! :D
