Burn The Floor

#1 Post by superhero » Thu Sep 02, 2010 10:15 am

I went to see Burn the Floor last night at the Shaftsbury Theatre. I think I need to clean my eyes with soapy water, it was another fleshfest of gyrating bodies, at one point I thought I was watching Showgirls! I had my doubts going to the show and watching ballroom dancing "reinvented" and I am not a fan of Strictly Come Dancing.
Were their body lines straight all the time? No but their movement had real energy and vigour and they were all incredibly fast especially Brian Fortuna.
I am always disappointed when there's no/not much of a set, but I guess the highlight is the dancing and not anything else, even though some of the songs were quite pleasing.
The diehard fans in the audience clapped and whooped at every opportunity, it was the second last performance and I ended up being sweeped along by the performers enthusiasm.
It's not rocket science but a solid entertaining 7/10
