Not really, SH, Its upon watching it second time that one absorbs the story more, and read more layers. Because having seen it already, the mind knows what follows so there is more scope to absorb more. Thats what happened when I watched it again, I appreciated the ending more, before they talked about it in the q&a. Though I still do not like the whole ending, just the part that involves the reverend.

I'm sure you must have seen films more than once and experience the same thing? Brazil was one example that I absolutely hated on first viewing, then second time, I thought ok, its actually quite a clever satire and third time viewing onwards, I find it to be a masterpiece of film making as I discovered and re-interpreted more layers.

Inception will be another, I'm sure, as so far I have only seen it once and was a little underwhelmed by it. But I look forward to seeing it again and perhaps it will resonate more with me...or maybe it wont.

Oh, Valda is right, the guy who asked about why they used a soundtrack and more camera angles sounded and very much like yourself, ie very critical, lol. I admire the guys like you and him, takes guts to do that in front of a very love making audience with Roth ;) There were even a couple of girly fan screams when he walked on!

shame I didn't get to meet anyone, yet again :noo:

I was rather scared when it started getting a bit creepy, but the ending didn't do it for me. It reminded me of a Hammer Film, either The Devil Rides out or something like that from the 60's. I loved all the performances, especially Cotton, he was great. Now after the Q & A, I've sort of changed my mind at the ending, having listened to what it was meant to be. I may see it again sometime when its on DVD, and see it it made more sense vx
Same here Valda :( I dont get to see many previews as my signature reflects, so it would be nice to meet yourself and others when I do get a preview :)

Heat gave it 4 stars!
I'm with Mr Glass though; other than the ending I thought it was pretty well done and the lead actor was excellent.

Ashley Bell's Oscar nomination campaign gathers further momentum!:
(If she gets an Oscar nom, I am quitting FMUK! Grrrrr and Ashley Bell is no Linda Blair)

"Twisted Exorcism star generates Oscar buzz

The 24-year-old actress gives an unexpectedly physical performance as troubled teen Nell, as she struggles with what appears to be demonic possession.

Her eerie contortionism, in particular the 'back bend', has become the signature image of the film, appearing in the trailers and on the poster.

Bell, who is double-jointed, came up with the physical moves herself, and the director was more than happy to write them into the film.

Her co-stars say it was easy to act scared in scenes with Bell, as they were genuinely 'freaked out'.

Physicality aside, Bell's performance has been praised by critics, drawing inevitable comparisons to Linda Blair's Oscar-nominated performance in The Exorcist.

The Last Exorcism is in cinemas nationwide now."

You know, she was VERY good, especially when I watched it second time, her transitions from sweet innocence to possessed/insanity were brilliantly done. I loved how she looked genuinely excited with being gifted with the Doc Martin boots and her shining moment was during the second exorcism attempt as she was being taken over by Abalam...that was her scene stealer. The oscar buzz might be justified, though I wouldnt nominate her myself, ironically, it was the reverend who I thought carried the film for me!

SH, I feel like we're sparring in a boxing ring, lol ;)

Well I feel like Rocky 6 rather than Rocky 1 at the moment. Can you imagine an Eli Roth produced film getting an Oscar nom?

It must be a bad year for actresses if she's a leading Oscar contender.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
