Time Out / VV Brown Comp Joke!

#1 Post by woodyrocks » Fri Jul 31, 2009 12:53 am

What a bleeding joke of a show :x

First of all the tickets won were about as useful as bottled air. In fact that could be actually useful...there were no need for a ticket, you can just show up for any of the acts playing during the shimmer event at Westfield. Secondly, it was scheduled for 7-9. Got there at 7 and was informed that VV Brown would be on stage around 8. She came on after 7.30 and was done and dusted before 8! Like what was the point of that :wall:

The way this was pitched was totally inaccurate and as someone that rearranged my evening to attend, disappointing to say the least.

The joke is I don't even like her music but still feel shafted

Did go off to have a glass of champagne Bellini at the Champagne Bar though after which was nice!

My boyf 'won' some tickets via Time Out, liking VV Brown, we went to see her perform. Have to agree with woodyrocks that 'winning tickets through Time Out' were a waste of time and paper! It was not sectioned off, there was no staff asking for the print out and as it was in the main atrium even the people upstairs were able to have a great view over the balcony. Anyone and everyone who walked passed were able to get into the crowd and enjoy the music.

Arrived at 7pm in time to see the DJ come on stage - the crowd were SO unresponsive, just standing there, made me laugh!! Was I the only one in Westfield dancing?! Anyway, after a couple of tracks boyf and I had a quick ciggie then looked around the shops as it was his first time at Westfield. Came back in time to see VVB perform, but must have missed a track or two. :( We really like her music and her vibe is amazing, I think one of her concerts at Brixton Academy would be faboosh!! o/ Although she's a Bush girl now (recently moved), the crowd were slightly more active for her than they were for the DJ. Still quite a rigid bunch of people  I know I was the only one dancing in my part of the crowd at least, boyf was taking pics and videoing some of it.

I have picture evidence that it is a 'free gig' as I took a pic of a poster... I shall post asap.

Time Out are very sneaky creating a comp for this type of thing when it's entirely free!! :nono:
